Royal ball (Hunter x M!Reader) Pt.2

Previously:

"So, are we supposed to dance together or-" Y/N got cut off as Hunter offered his hand to start the dance. He took it, and the pairs started to slowly revolve around the stage.

"To be honest, this is like, the second time I've ever slow danced," Y/N admitted. Hunter was the one guiding him, mostly. He was surprisingly good at dancing. He snorted under the mask.

"Well, I had lessons from 2 of the Coven Heads, Darius and Raine," Hunter admitted, spinning around a couple of times. They fell silent and the night flew by, full of dancing. All types of music and people crowded the stage in different songs. Everything was perfect until...

"Uncle?!" Hunter yelled. Belos was doubled over, green slime oozing from under his mask. Hunter ran towards him and helped him stand up.

"Hunter, a palisman, quickly," Belos gasped. Hunter looked around, looking for someone to get a palisman from. His gaze landed on you.

"Y/N, please-" Hunter cut himself off as he tried to support his uncle so he wouldn't fall over. I nodded. My palisman hated me anyways. I summoned the silver electric eel and handed it to him. I ran over to help Hunter with Belos as the emperor snatched the staff from his nephew's grasp, breaking it and absorbing the magic. He stood up straighter.

"Thank you, ..." He looked down at you, asking for your name.

"Y-Y/N," You stuttered. He was scary up close, his eyes bearing into yours. You suddenly knew you had to get out of there. You slowly backed away into the crown and ran. You didn't know where to go, or why you had the urge to run. You just knew you had to.

You finally reachedthe beach of the not-boiling sea. You took your shoes and socks off, rolled up your pant legs, and started walking down the beach. You had a lot of explaining to do. You got lost in thought as you walked until your scroll started bursting with notications. You checked Penstagram, and saw Hunter had messaged you.

RULERZREACHF4N- Where r u?? Answer plz.

RULERZREACHF4N- A bloke showed up and tried to kill some of the students that had attended. He didnt know the emperor would b there. Plz answer pls be alive.

RULERZREACHF4N-Y/N Y/N Y/N Y/N answer plz

Y/N- Sorry for running  away so suddenlly. i knew something was up.

RULERZREACHF4N- well, now evryone thinks you tried to kill the human, including the humans gf. so plz be careful.

"Great. Now I'm wanted for attempted murder!" You shouted at the air. Only the wind answered, whisling through the stones. The sound was actually very beautiful, so you tried to copy it. But it came out much eerier than you imagined. (Look at the video above. Well, hear).

"Who did that!? Please stop!" Someone shouted. Luz and Amity suddenly appeared, staring right at me.

"Y/N... Did you do that? Were you trying to kill me?" Luz asked. You froze.

"No! You're one of my best friends!" You cried. The wind started again, and you whistled again. The girls phisically froze until he finished.

"That is the eeriest thing I've ever heard," Amity shook as if cold. You shut up. You hated making people scared or hurting them.

"Why do you think I tried to kill you guys?" You asked. Luz sighed.

"Becase a few minutes after you left, the guy showed up and tried to kill people. Everyone thought you'd told him you'd left so he could attack witout risking your own neck,"Amity explained," Emperor Belos took care of him though, and now they're looking for you to take into questioning. The Golden Guard has also been questioned, as your partner, but he came out clean."

"But... But I didn't! Why would I?! I have no reason to want to kill people..." You trailed off. They clearly didn't believe you.

"Also, I kinda sent half the people of the Boiling Isles my live location, so they're probably going to storm into this beach at any moment. I suggest you run," Amity said, taking out her scroll. I stood shocked.

"Fine. I guess I'll be on my owh from now on, Amity Blight. I won't forgive you," You turned, trying to blink back tears, and ran into the forest. You stopped after about 10 minutes to catch your breath and put your shoes back on. Your feet were bleeding, but you couldn't do anything right now. So you put on your shoes and continued walking anywhere.

"Did you hear something?" A deep voice suddenly said. You stilled, playing to the titan that they hadn't seen you.

"Nope. Little bastard's a pro. But we'll find him, don't worry," A female voice said. You held your breath until you were sure they were gone.

"I'm getting hunted, yay," You grabbed your gair and curled into a ball at the roots of a tree,"Why don't I just whistle the scray tune to let them know where I am so they can kill me now!?" You laughed to yourself. So you sat cross-legged and started to whistle.

"HOLY SHIT WAS WAS THAT?!" At least 3 voices said at the same time. You heard people scrambling away from you, scared by the whistle.

"Huh. That could be useful," You said, standing up. Having bard magic, your whisling was enhanced. But suddenly a hand was over your mouth.

"Shh. They were spooked, but they'll be back. Lets go," Hunter said. You nodded and followed him.

"Should I keep whisling?"

"Yes. It'll keep them away," Hunter nodded at you, so you continued to whistle as you went somewhere. After about an hour of walking, Hunter stopped and pulled his mask off. He looked serious.

"What?"

"The guy who attacked the ball was called   #()$%!#* L/N, that's why everyone was so suspicious. I am too, but I know you'd never ascociate with Wild Witches," Hunter sat down on a rock, staff still in hand.

"My dad?! He died!" You whispered. Unless...

"So... He's back?"

"Yup. And on the hunt for you. Death's coming to take you back, Y/N. And he won't back down without a fight... And, I bet you, you'll dive right into his arms if it meant keeping everyone safe from his wild magic," Hunter blushed a bit, "And I really like that. Throwing yourself at literal Death to keep everyone you love safe. I wish I had half your courage."

"You... you like that about me?" Your ears tuned red as you realized what he'd said. Hunter smiled and took your hand. You don't know how long you two sat there, but for once, it felt ok. Having someone with no reason to trust you put their life in danger just to help you.

"I like you, Hunter. Your loyalty, defiance, and will to do anything to help those few people you care about. I never knew the stone-faced Golden Guard could make me feel this."
