"YOU MOTHERFUCKERS! I'VE NEVER EVEN BROKEN ANY LAWS IN FRONT OF YOU ASSHOLES," You yelled as you ran into the woods, dodging various low-hanging branches and bushes threatening to trip you. The coven scouts were hot on your heels, one of the holding your staff, so you couldn't fly away.

"In the name of the Emperor, we order you to stop!" The lead scout said, you stuck your tounge out.

"THE EMPEROR CAN SUCK MY DICK, YOU'LL NEVER CATCH ME ALIVE, BITCH," You shouted at him. Putting on a burst of speed, you jumped on a low-hanging brack and continued the chase in the treetops. The you used some illusion magic to campflage yourself against a tree trunk. The scouts continued running forwards. You sighed in relief after a few minutes.

"Thank the titan," You breathed, jumping down from the tree. Looking around to make sure no coven scouts remained, you started your way back to town.

"Hey, that was pretty smart of you, hiding in the trees."

"Thanks... WAIT WHA-" You spun around to see who'd said that. And the Golden Guard himself was mere inches away from you, staff charged and in hand.

"I was telling the truth, by the way. Not many Wild Witches are talanted enough to use both magical and phisical abilities to run from the scouts. I admire and hate that in equal measures," He said, taking a step back. Manacles clincked in his hand. You sighed.

"No use trying to run away again, huh?"

"Nope," He grabbed your sholders and snapped the manacles around your wrists,"We're taking you to the castle. The Emperor has specifically asked to see you in person. Don't ask me why, 'cause I don't know."

Your eyes widened at the mention of seeing the Emperor himself. Why had he asked to see you? Why not just send you a letter inviting you or something? You thought that sometimes he could be really dumb, but ofcourse you weren't gonna say anything.

"So... we going now, or waiting for something?" You asked. Both of you had been standing there for a few minutes. The Golden Guard turned towards you again.

"I'm waiting for the others to come back so we can escort you to the castle. The Emperor will not accept you escaping again during the trip," The Golden Guard turned towards the forest as the large bushes rustled. The scouts ran out of them and stared at you, surprised. You stuck your tounge out at them.

"Golden Guard, sir! Thank you for-" The lead scout got cut off by the Golden Guard raising his hand, stopping him.

"I came because the Emperor is not a patient man. He needs to talk to them, the sooner the better. Get the cart," He said, pointing at the prison cart in the distance. Two of the five scouts went to get it, as the rest of you started walking slowly. You felt the Golden Guard's staff tip on your back as you walked, making sure you wouldn't run. Soon you were chained to the inside of the cart and on your way to see Emperor Belos. Just great.

"Get them out. We're going to see the Emperor."

The doors opened and the Golden Guard stepped in, key in hand. You rolled your eyes as he pointed his staff towards you.

"No magic, or you're dead," He threatened. You sighed. He unlocked you from the inside of the cart and pushed you into the castle. You began walking towards the throne room, where, the Golden Guard informed you, Belos would be waiting for you. You resgned yourself to the fact that you were probably gonna get killed or something.

"Here we are. DO NOT SPEAK UNLESS SPOKEN TO. Got it?" The Golden Guard said. You nodded as he knocked on the door. A faint 'Enter' sounded, and he pushed you through in first.

"Emperor Belos, I have found Wild Witch Y/N, as you asked me to," The Golden Guard said, kneeling. He forced you to the ground as well. The Emperor stayed silent for a minute, as you assesed the people standing next to him. Lillith, the head of the Coven, and Kikimora, the Emperor's assistant.

"Lillith, Kikimora, Hunter, leave," Belos finally said. You were confused on who Hunter was, until you realized it had to be the Golden Guard. The three of them left, though Lillith had to drag Kikimora out, who was intent on staying. Hunter freed your wrists before leaving, then shut the door, leaving you and the Emperor alone. You were more nervous now than with other people in the room.

"Tell me. Why do you think I asked for you to be brought to me?" Belos stood up and started walking towards you.

"Well... because I broke the law? I dunno," You stood up, rubbing your wrists. You two were face to face now.

"That could be part of the reason. But, not the main one, my dear," He stared at you.

'Dear? Did he jus call me dear?! What is even going on...' You thought. You crossed your arms as you looked at him, refusing to be cowed.

"Well then, tell me what the main reason is," You replied. He was taller than you, so you had to look up to see his eyes. He sighed, then lifted his arm and took his mask off.

"Woah," You took a step back, away from him. The first thing you noticed was a wide green scar spanning his face diagonally from his hairline down to his neck. The next thing was that his nose had probably been broken in the past and healed crooked.

"Let's go somewhere private, as I fear that some people may be more interested in what's happining here than their missions," Belos said. I glanced back at the door, then nodded and followed him to a hidden doorway at the back of the room. Inside, a mechanical door with an eye on it stood.

"Finally. Now, let me tell you the real reason I asked for you. Putting it simply, you've caught my interest. Maybe that ferocious personality of yours, maybe it's the fact that you cower to no-one not even me. And I really like that, Y/N. I like you," He turned back to you, smiling. You tok a momet to process what he'd said.

"Wait what-" You stuttered, turning bright red. You gripped the hem of your shirt, a nervous habit.

"So... do you accept?" Belos asked, looking down into your eyes.

"Accept... accept what?"

"My offer. To be mine," Belos grasped your chin firmly, forcing you to look him in the eyes. You considered. Belos smirked.

"Let me make this easier for you. If you accept, I will let you remain without a sigil. You will live here in the castle and be my partner. But please, don't go around doing petty crimes for the sake of it."

It sounded tempting. But... "What if I refused?"

"Then you'd be branded with a sigil, thrown into the Comformatorium and petrified within a week."

Not like you had another choice. You sighed.

"Fine. I accept," You spat out. The words tasted like ash in your mouth. Belos' expression lightened to joy. And then he lowered his head until we were inches apart.

"Remember what you accepted to do," He breathed. Then our lips touched, leaving me shock. When he fianlly parted, you were breathless and a blushing mess. His face was also dusted pink.

"I'll have Hunter show you your new rooms, darling," Belos said. You nodded, still too shocked to speak. He still held your chin in one hand, and he cupped your face with both suddenly.

"Remember, you're mine now."

This was probably the biggest misteak you'd ever made. If so, why didn't it feel so bad.

Maybe you could even start to like him back...
