This is not a ship oneshot, just something In wanted to write. This species is called the Devanii. They are able to harness the power of how many eyes are on them/watching them. The more, the stronger. This is why they always fight in crowded areas. They can also grow or shrink to their liking.

All right. In this oneshot, reader looks something like this^^

Just wanted to make it clear what species Y/N was. you can imagine them with longer hair, more horns, different clothes, etc. (ART NOT MINE)

"Hunter, there is a travelling pet sale coming here tomorrow. I need you to go and buy this specific animal," Belos Hunter a picture of an animal-like crature, looking like a half witch half some mammal. Hunter nodded in understanding.

"Yes, Uncle. How expensive will it be?"

"Very. This animal is said to be one of a kind, but take as much money as you think you'll need. I need that thing, the sooner the better," Belos dissmissed Hunter with a wave of his hand.

The next day...

Hunter was first in line for the pet sale that day. The line was at least a mile long, so he was quite lucky. He clutched the picture of the animal Belos had ordered him to buy. The entrance opened suddenly, and a witch came out of the doorway.

"Ah, yes, come in, come in! The first five only, please!" He said, nodding at the first five. Hunter entered the giant tent, and saw a load of rare creatures.

"Sir, on behalf of the Emperor, I'd like to buy this one,"Hunter approached the man, showing him the picture. The man's eyes widened as he realized Hunter worked for the emperor.

"Golden Guard! Sir! O-Of course, come... come this way," He stuttered. He led the way to the very back of the tent. It was darker here, so Hunter had to squint to see.

"Ri-right here is the specimen, Sire," The man said, still nervous. It sat cross-legged in a larger cage. It wasn't doing anything, just... sitting there. Waiting. But when it saw Hunter, it jumped up and ran to the side, trying to attack him.

"Down! I swear, they're the only creature I haven't been able to tame yet," The man grabbed a a chain lead and clipped it onto the metallic collar it was wearing. It calmed down a bit, but still growled at Hunter.

"All right, you bitch. Come on, you're getting sold."

Hunter lifted a hand to stop the man,"Wait. Do they have a name?" The man sighed.

"They do, but never responds to it. It's Y/N," He grabbed a small jar of light red powder and opened it. Y/N's ears perek up, then they flattened them backwards. Their posture was more... scared, now.

"The powder is the only way we've found yet to contril them. Just dust a bit on both your hands and set," The man said. Hunter offered his hand, and the guy sprinkled a pich of powder on it. He rubbed his hands together until lightly coated in the powder.

"Very well. How much?" Hunter took the end of the chain, as the man was offering it, and took out his pouch of snails.

"80,000 snails, I'm afraid," The man shook his head. Hunter gave him the payment and left with Y/N tagging along behind him. Everyone stared as Hunter went back to the castle. He was getting really uncomfortable from the startes, but Y/N stayed silent and jus walked a couple of feet behind him. After about 20 minutes of walking, they got to the throne room.

"Uncle, I found them. Their name is Y/N, and for some reason they're scared of this red powder," Hunter showed his hand, still covered in the light red powder. Belos walked over to him and placed a hand on his sholder.

"Thank you, Hunter. Leave them here," Belos took the lead from his nephew's hands and looked at Y/N as Hunter closed the door behind him.

"I wonder what this is made of to scare you so much..." Belos took the jar out of his pocket, where he'd put it after Hunter had handed it to him. He opened it and put it near Y/N's face. They backed away as fast and far as they could, that being not much, as the chain was still connected to their collar.

"Y/N. Interesting name for an interesting creature," Belos started to wrap the exess chain around his wrist, closing the space between them until they were face to face.

"I know you can talk, so stop playing dumb with me, Y/N," He hissed. Y/N sighed.

"Even that dude didn't know I could talk. Smart," They said. The emperor straightened up again. Y/N was hunching bacl all the time, so he had to look down to meet their eyes.

"Why are you so afraid of the powder?" Belos asked. Y/N flinched, touching their neck. There was only a collar and...

"It leaves invisible marks after you wash it off, correct? You can only see those marks with the Glass on your collar," Belos narrowed his eyes as Y/N nodded.

"Straighten up."

Y/N bit their lip, but did as they were told. And Belos suddenly realized that Y/N was taller than him. Like, 3 inches taller.

"Nevermind, have your posture how you like," Belos shook his head as Y/N cracked a smile.

"Why I really wanted you is to see how strong you are, both phisically and magically."

"Hm... And how are you going to determine it?" Y/N asked, going back to their smaller size. They seemed to be able to shrink and grow at will or something.

"I'll have you fight some coven scouts, then stronger and stronger. If you're able to beat the Golden Guard, or at least tie with him, I'll let you live instead of killing you," Belos went over to the throne and took his mask off, placing it on the seat. Y/N sucked in a breath as Belos turned back towards them.

"To all honesty, I did not expect you to look like that," Y/N blinked several times before un-clippinf the leash from the collar they were wearing.

"All right. Invite as many people as you want to watch, Belos. The game has just begun."
