Kai gets home on a Tuesday afternoon, ready to tackle his homework. He swings his backpack over to the corner where it normally resides when it's not on his back, grabs his water bottle, and slides into his seat at the table, diligently working.

Bolin gets home a little while later, maybe twenty minutes. "Hey kid!" He exclaims as always, ruffling Kai's hair as he goes to the couch, crashing down like he's been deprived of it.

"How was school?" Kai sighs. He just wants to work on his homework in peace. He needs to get it done to show Jinora he cares!

"It was good. Some kids got in a fight today." Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Bolin sit up and look at Kai. Kai just chuckles. "Don't worry, I didn't get involved." Bolin sank back down.

"Not until the end at least." Bolin shoots back up and stares at Kai.

"Was it bad?" He asks. Kai laughs. "Oh yeah. It was a brawl. People were taking sides, insults were thrown, people stood on desks, and it was a fight to see who could deal the most damage. It was getting pretty heated." Kai continues doing his homework like he was just talking about what he ate for lunch. Then the vice principal came in because he heard the noise. And we were making a lot of noise!" Kai laughs. "He asked what was wrong, and then some guy shouted, 'Away with you, Friar! You have no business here!'. I don't think he's ever been more confused. Then the whole class burst out laughing, but the fight continued. I think someone called me a quail egg giving birth. It was the weirdest fight I've ever been in."

Bolin stands. "Did anyone get hurt?" Kat laughs again.

"Yeah, but only because the moron fell off his desk. He was screaming at this one girl but then he lost his balance and fell. The whole class froze and watched him get up. He was bleeding! He said he was fine, but the girl walked him down to the office to get a band-aid. We fought for maybe twenty minutes, then the teacher sat us down and we started watching Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio." Bolin lets out a large sigh and falls back onto the couch.

"Oh, this was in English class wasn't it?" Kai puts his head down and starts laughing. "Kid, you scared me! I really thought I was going to get another call!" Kai just keeps laughing. "So, were you a Montigue or a Capulet?" Kai snorts, then responds.

"I was a Montigue. The whole class just kind of decided I was Romeo. Benji was Benvolio, so we stood in the middle and shouted at Jake, who was Paris, and Oliver was Tybalt. It was really funny." Bolin starts laughing.

"Was Jinora Juliet?" Kai has to gasp in the air because he can't breathe. "Jinora's not in my English class you ding-dong." Bolin laughs.

"Speaking of Jinora, how's she doing?" Kai sobers up pretty quick.

"She's fine. She's getting the patches off this Saturday, actually. It's very exciting." Bolin sighs.

"Asami's been worried. I mean, like, really worried. She's worried that she blinded a teenager forever. Do you think Jinora would be up to talking to her anytime soon?" Kai takes a deep breath, thinking.

"I honestly don't know. Maybe after she gets the patches off, she'll be ready. Maybe if we give her some time to prepare, she'll be ready. I mean, we did kind of drop that on her super suddenly last time." Bolin nods. Then he perks up and gives Kai a devilish grin. He leans on the armrest and puts his chin on his arms.

"You planning on taking Jinora out again?" Kai groans and puts his head on the table. "What? It went so well on Friday!" Kai just groans again. It did go well, but he doesn't need Bolin hassling him about it.

"Yeah, maybe. But maybe I'm waiting for her to be able to see again so I can show her my favorite spots in the city. I have a lot of things planned, but I don't want to scare her off." Bolin chuckles.
