CASSANDRA'S PERSPECTIVE

CURRENT: 10:49am - May 28, 2017.

CASSY'S MIND SET: February 12, 2015.

I yawned and stretched my arms widely. "Ahh! Good morning to me!" I smiled and stood up. My eyebrows knitted in confusion when I saw a bouquet of lilies in my side table. Who got these for me?

"Good morning, Cassandra!" My heartbeat stopped for a moment when someone barged into the room and greeted me. "Hey! Who are you?" I pointed my pointer finger at her. "I'm Yujin. Here, read this, this will help you out," she lightly smiled at me and handed me a notebook. I raised my eyebrow.

"Do I know you?" I asked her.

"I know you, but you don't know me," she smiled and went out of the door. my eyebrows were knitted again. She knows me but I don't know him?

I looked at the notebook that she gave me. A memory notebook, eh? What's with this? "Mom? Dad? Maverick?" I shouted.

Huh? Why aren't they answering me? Usually, when I shout their name, they'll rush inside my room and ask what's wrong or anything. Then, I looked at the memory notebook in my hands. I should read it, right?

I don't know about myself but, my hands unconsciously flipped the notebook to the third page.

"Darren told me that he's my neighbor for about 2 years and Irene, Yujin and Ailee were my housemates. Another neighbors are named Sehun, Baekhyun, Kyungsoo and Chanyeol. They're Koreans, living in the same house. Darren also told me, that since my parents and my twin died, my relatives closed the convenience store where I used to work at."

I can hardly breath, especially with what I am reading right now. "He told me that he's dying. He told me that his heart that is used to beat for me, will be the reason of his death. He told me that, I don't deserve watering a dying flower."

My heart beats so fast. Who is this Darren?

"Darren told me he will never get tired of waiting for me outside my house's gate everyda-" I stopped reading, closed the memory notebook and ran.

"Cassandra! Cassandra! Where are you going?" I heard voices call me but I didn't mind them and started to sprint towards the front door.

I panted.

"Good morning. Have you received the lilies I gave you? You told me that lilies are your favorite flowers," I just stared at the guy who spoke to me just now. He's standing outside the gates, wearing a plain black shirt, red jeans and a skater shoes branded as Vans.

"Are you perhaps a guy that is named Darren?" I politely asked him, caressing my hair with my fingers. He grinned at me. "I am. You remembered me?" I was taken aback with his question. "No. I don't know you, actually," I answered truthfully.

His smile slowly fades away as I saw the corners of his eyes starting to get wet. "I.. I.." I stuttered. Darren just laughed and nodded at me. "Ahh. Don't mind me, I understand you," he looks away.

"I'm just going to change my clothes, do you want to go inside?" I pointed him the door. He smiled and shrugged his head.

"No need."

I grabbed him by the hand and motioned him inside the house. "Oh Darren! You're here. Hi, Cassandra. Good morning," a girl with a light brown-colored hair greeted me and waved her hand. What was her name again? Yu.. Yuri? Yunice? Yu..

"Hi.. Yujin," my mouth was that able to mumble her name well. Her name is way too unfamiliar to me. They all shot their eyes wide open at me and grinned widely.

"You can remember now?!" they all asked me in unison, including Darren. I rubbed the back of my neck.

"You introduced yourself to me earlier.." I slowly said, making them sigh. Then, a girl with a jet black hair went in front of me.

"We've been housemates for two years long and, it's been two years long that I've been introducing myself to you everyday. My name is Irene," she smiled at me. I smiled uneasily. She's been introducing herself to me everyday?! That's insane!

Then, a girl with a dark brown hair introduced herself next. "I can say the same with her. By the way, I'm Ailee," she smiled at me. I warmly smiled back.

I can't believe that I've been with them for straight two years. And everyday, they're introducing to me. I can't imagine myself in the future introducing myself to a person whom I get to meet, to see and be with everyday. I'll get so insane!

"I'll excuse myself for a while. I'll just change my clothes," I excused myself and went upstairs. I sighed and looked at myself in the mirror. Inside of my head, I can hear faint voices. 'You are beautiful.'

I smiled. I didn't know who owns that voice but, I am thankful. "11:11, I believe in miracles. I wish that soon, I can remember. Even though everyone knows that it's impossible."

I'm done changing my clothes and about to go out of my room when I heard people talking downstairs.

"I'm not going to give up."

"There's no way that she'll remember you. Us. She herself is stuck in her own past. The past wherein she doesn't know you."

"I'm not going to give up."

"Darren.."

"Yujin, even if she push me away, I won't give up."

"But, you're dying.."

"I know that I'm dying. But, I won't give up even if my heart gives up on me."

I felt an unfamiliar pain on my chest. Looks like I can feel Darren's pain now?

I closed my eyes, sighed and went out of my room. "I'm done!" I shouted and carefully ran down the stairs. They all smiled at me. Darren stood up and grinned at me. "Let's go out, shall we?" he asked me. I smiled and nodded at him.

Throughout the whole time that Darren and I are together, he was smiling at me like no tomorrow but, I can't smile back at him. "It's getting dark now, let's sit for a while," he pointed a beautiful old tree that has strong trunks enough for us to lean onto.

The sun is about to set, the faint sunlight shines through Darren's face. I saw him frown. "Why are you sad?" I asked him. He looked at me and smiled. I want to roll my eyes at him but that would be very rude, and my parents never taught me to be rude but, Darren is faking a smile again.

"It is because you never heard the words that you needed so bad?" I asked him again. He looked down but, I smiled at him.

"To tell you, I won't give up either," I chuckled at Darren. "What?" he asked me. "You heard me, Darren. I won't give up until I remember you completely," I told him while staring at the orange-colored sunset. "But that's impossible," he frowned again. "If you believe, every impossible thing in this world will be possible.."

You are Darren, my neighbor. I might know you today. But, tomorrow, you'll be a complete stranger to me. I'm so sorry for that.
