When Alyssa and Merlin entered the living room Esme was the first to notice them.
"Hello Alyssa," Esme said as she hugged the young girl.
"Hello Esme," Alyssa said as she returned the hug.
After pulling away from the motherly vampire, Alyssa turned to face Carlisle before he also gave her a welcoming hug. Alyssa thought of Carlisle and Esme as second parents and she was glad that Esme had become like a mother to her.
After pulling away from the young girl, Carlisle led her over to one of the couches in the living room. Alyssa sat down in the middle with Merlin to her left and Jasper, with Alice on his lap, sat to her right.
"Alice, Jasper and Merlin have told me that you wished to speak to all of us about your sister," Carlisle said as he sat on the armrest of the chair where Esme sat.
Emmett and Rose sat on the loveseat next to the couch and Edward leaned against the back of the loveseat. Alyssa had her hand in Merlin's larger one, helping her stay calm. Taking a deep breath, Alyssa looked to Carlisle before speaking.
"I have this gut feeling that my sister will become suspicious of your family and be obsessed with finding out your secret. I'm not blaming anyone here but Edward did cause her to become suspicious with the way he acted in Biology," Alyssa said as she looked at the bronze-hair vampire. "I hope I was able to help some when I managed to get Edward's and Merlin's classes changed, along with my own."
Carlisle looked from the human mate to Edward.
"Isabella Swan is my blood singer, I nearly lost it today in class," Edward said ashamed that he nearly put his family in danger. "But I found my mate."
This news caused everyone but Alice and Alyssa to look at him in shock. Alice had seen who Edward's true mate was and Alyssa just knew.
"Who is it?" Emmett asked as he looked at his brother.
"Angela Webber," Edward said with a smile that the family hadn't seen before.
"Alyssa's friend Angela," Rose asked.
Edward's smile just grew wider at the mention of his mate. Alyssa stood up from her seat and walked over to Edward, who looked surprised to see her approaching him. It was moments like this where Edward wished he could read her mind. Taking him by surprise, Alyssa pulled the usually brooding vampire into a hug. Coming out of his shock, Edward returned the hug smiling at his brother's mate. Pulling away from the hug, Alyssa looked him in the eye before speaking.
"Treat Angie right Edward. She's a sweet girl and one of my best friends."
"I will Lys, I promise."
The other coven members couldn't help but to smile at the two friends. When Alyssa and Edward first met, they didn't like one another. Always arguing about nothing and annoying each other like crazy. A year and a half after Alyssa and Merlin had gotten together did a surprise visit from the Volturi did they understand what the bond was between them.
