***Two Years Later ***
It was a quiet afternoon when Alyssa and Merlin were lying on her bed in silence. The pair hadn't completed the mating bond yet, since Merlin was afraid to hurt his mate and Alyssa didn't want to pressure him. As the mates just listened to the low playing classical music that was playing in the background silently, Alyssa couldn't be happier than she was at that very moment. However, the silence was broken when the sound of her father's voice called from the front door.
"Alyssa, you home?"
Alyssa slowly got out of Merlin's arms and pulled him from the bed before the pair went downstairs to her father. When Charlie saw his daughter and the boy he thought of a son-in-law he couldn't help but smile at them.
"Hey daddy," Alyssa said as she saw her father handing up his coat and gun belt.
"Hey, kids. Alyssa can I talk to you in private," Charlie asked as he looked over at the black hair vampire.
"Hello Chief Swan and I got to go anyway Lys. I'll pick you up in the morning," Merlin said as he kissed Alyssa on the cheek.
"Okay, tell your family I say hello."
Merlin kissed Alyssa once more before agreeing to tell his family that Alyssa said hello. After he had left the house Alyssa turned to her father.
"So what do you want to talk about," Alyssa asked as she made her way to the kitchen to start making dinner.
"So your mother called..."
"What did the egg donor want," Alyssa said angrily.
Alyssa had hated her mother and sister ever since her mother left her behind and only showed favorites to Bella.
"Alyssa, don't talk about your mother like that," Charlie said.
"Whatever, what did she want?"
"Well, she got remarried apparently and she and her new husband want to travel a bit. Anyway, Bella has decided to come and live here for her junior and senior years. She'll be here this Saturday," Charlie said.
Alyssa stopped making dinner at once at the news that her ungrateful sister was coming to live with her and HER father. Slowly Alyssa put down the knife that she was previously holding to cut up potatoes and turned to face her father, nothing but hatred and hurt in her eyes.
"NO, why does she have to come here and ruin everything? You do know how Renee always favored Isabella, and never once asked about me? I will not tolerate her trying to get in between us since she's an attention whore," Alyssa said as she walked away from the kitchen, not even bothering to continue making dinner.
Alyssa walked up to her room slamming the door shut before locking it. She was beyond pissed that the ungrateful child was coming back home. Alyssa saw how hurt her father was when Isabella told him that she didn't want to visit him anymore. When Charlie would go to California to visit her sister, Alyssa would stay with her best friend Paul Lahote. When Merlin first learned that Alyssa was friends with a few of the wolf shifters he tried to stop her from being friends with them or even going onto the Rez, but after Alyssa told him that if he tried to stop her in any way from seeing her friends she'd break up with him and move to the Rez where he'd never see her again. This scared Merlin and his family, who thought of Alyssa as another daughter/sister, and if she were to leave Merlin, no one wanted to see the loneliness and pain that he would endure from not being with his mate.
