"Emma!"

"Emma! Wake up."

Emma rolled on her side, lazily. "Lemme sleep," she said.

"Do you wanna be late on your first day?" Katie asked, pulling away the scarlet curtains of their dorm room. The previously dark room was lit up brightly, as the morning sunlight flooded through the glass windows Emma's hand flew up to shield her eyes from the sudden light that exploded in front of her face. She squinted her eyes

"Get up quickly, or we'll be late for breakfast," Katie said, as she made her bed. Emma looked around herself, as her eyes adjusted themselves to the light, slowly. The dorm room was mostly painted crimson, with slight touches of gold. There were two four-poster beds, with scarlet curtains, and bedside cabinets next to them. A few pictures adorned the walls. That's when everything snapped back into place. She realized she was in Hogwarts, and immediately, a grin spread onto her face.

She jumped out of bed. It was her first day at Hogwarts, finally. She grabbed her uniform and rushed to the bathroom, which was to be shared between two dorm rooms. Emma emerged out of the bathroom, humming slightly, after a few minutes. She was excited about her first day She ran her hairbrush through her auburn hair before gathering her books and stuffing them in her bag. Soon, Katie was ready.

"Ready to go?" she asked

"More than ready" Emma replied, smiling.

They exited their room, and climbed down the winding mahogany staircase, into the Gryffindor common room. The room was slightly crowded, and amid them, it took a few moments for Emma to spot Fred and George, who was seated in one corner with Lee Jordan.

"C'mon," she said to Katie.

They walked over to them,

"Hey sis, Katie," Fred said, smiling at them.

"Hey guys" Emma replied and Katie smiled back.

"We were waiting for you, shall we go?" George asked, to which all of them nodded, and walked out of the common

"I'm excited about the flying lessons," Lee said, excitedly. "Why do they have to hold them after four full days?

"I can't wait for them either," Emma said, although she knew how to fly, along with Fred and George. Bill and Charlie had taken it upon themselves to teach them that.

"Oh no," Katie muttered, earning questing looks from the other four. "I completely forgot we have flying lessons," she said, nervously. "Don't tell me, you've never flown a broom before" George said

"I have" Katie replied. "Dad tried to teach me, but well, I broke my arm," she said, looking downwards.

Fred, George, and Lee burst into laughter.

"You broke your arm, the first time you got on a broom?" Fred asked. Emma glared at them.

"That's enough," she said. "It's going to be alright, Katie. And relax, the flying lessons are four days away. You'll be fine."

Katie smiled at her. They reached the Great Hall, which was bustling with activity. Heading towards the Gryffindor table, they sat down, Emma next to Katie and across from the boys.

Professor McGonagall passed timetables, not long after. Their first class was Transfiguration, with McGonagall, of course.

"Oh no," Fred said.

"What?" Katie asked.

"We have Potions, next, that too with Slytherins," Fred said, dramatically.

"Snape and Slytherins together is surely torture" George continued. That part of a Malfoy is going to be there"
