MARK'S POV
The food was good its my second time having a meal there but I didn't enjoy it as much. The environment was too tense but it's now or never we're sitting inside the car, I'm calmer than I really am and I'm waiting on her to speak.
"Yuh always wah si mi, well here I am" She started
"Eehh weh yuh deh over a year now?"
"Yuh know how much man suffer and all man wah see a just yuh fi talk to""Mark m- I cut her off
"Mi nuh done!"
She sat quiet "Mi know seh mi couldn't come a town or come live, and weh yuh duh a because yuh want di best for me but not even a visit woman?"
She sat there, I could see the gears turning in her head she was searching for the words but it seems she didn't know how to start.
About two minutes past us by in silence before I spoke " yuh call me wah talk but now yuh silent, when yuh ready fi talk w-
But I didn't get to finish before she broke down in tears.
I've only seen this woman cry once before and that was when my father was killed, not even funeral day, she stood firm, maybe for me, so I know something happened that's hurting her something she won't or can't tell.
It defrosted me a bit but leaves me wanting answers even more than before but not so willing to pull them from her just now.
She was crying really hard on my shoulder and it broke me I hugged her tighter as she cried even more for about five minutes.
Again like that night father passed my heart did the crying.
Maybe mi never born wid nuh eyewater star
I didn't feel like going to the showing I had scheduled after lunch so I called my boss and told him I wasn't feeling well after lunch so I'm taking the rest of the day.
He gave me the go ahead.
So we went to the supermarket and I bought some groceries and we headed out.
"Where are we going Mark ?" She asked
"Just easy man and relax"
Hard to imagine just an hour ago we were like enemies, but a bond between mother and son I guess isn't easily severed.
We pulled up to the gate of the apartment I lived in and I could see she approved, along with being surprised. Before she asks I said it.
"A nuh mi house, is an apartment. I live upstairs"
We exit the vehicle and she attempts to retrieve the groceries and I tell her no leave them.
She looks at me puzzled but leaves them be.I guided her up the stairs and into my apartment. I was hot and needed a shower so I told her to make herself at home take anything from the fridge and sit anywhere she pleases.
My shower was relieving, I felt refreshed after the day's events. So I got dressed with clothes I had taken to the bathroom with me and on entering my room I saw her on the bed asleep.
She's at ease....Something up. Supn she nah seh but mek it rest fi now
I need a drink. I got two magnums from the refrigerator, and went to the living room to relax and clear my head some more.
TRISHA'S POV
