"I think you guys should take this somewhere else. Ja, I'll see you later."

"Yeah, go ahead and leave!" Kara said

"No! Lauren, you can stay right here. This is our date, and we'll enjoy it. Let's go walk the beach."

I stood there shocked and could barely move. Honestly, I didn't know this was a date, but hearing Ja confirm it made me kind of.. excited. Before I could say anything, Ja held me by the waist, and we walked away.

"I'm sorry about that"

"Temetrius, I don't want to cause any drama between you and—

"There isn't her and me anymore. I honestly want to focus on you and me."

"Really?"

"Of course. I want to know you like the back of my hand". "I'd like that," I smiled.

Ja and I enjoyed the music and sat on the beach just talking. Things were going smoothly until my girls came calling for me.

"Laur, it's 11:30; we have to go," Stephanie said

"Aww lil baby got a curfew" Ja teased

"Nigga we do to" Chris jokes

I laughed a little bit and stood up with Ja's help. "So I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Sure" he pulled her into a hug.

Ja and I parted ways, and I couldn't lie; I was smiling ear to ear, which was noticeable. Although I wouldn't say I liked the idea of Ja breaking up with Kara for me, I couldn't do anything about it. I mean I haven't done anything so I'm not wrong.

Lisa and Leslie were spending the night at our house so once we got home, we all took turns showering; I had my own bathroom and shower. Then they made makeshift beds in my room on the floor.

"So, what's the deal with you and Ja?"

"Call him Temetrius."

"Ohhh!!" All my girls went and laughed

"Let me find out only you call him Ja" Stephanie joked, and we all laughed.

"You guys were right. He and Kara broke up because Ja wanted to get to know me."

"But?" Lisa asked

"Auntie always said how you get them is how you lose them—"

"Laur, please. All you did was speak to that man, and he got sprung so you didn't do anything wrong" Leslie said

They all nodded in agreement. "He said he wanted to focus on him and me."

"Must be nice."

"Tramp, if you just tell Kelly you like him, you can be at the same time,"  Lauren said to her

"Eventually, I will"

The girls continued talking until they heard snores coming from Lisa. Lisa was a night owl so when she was sleep they knew it was time to go. They shut the lights off and eventually the room was filled with snores.

Next Day
Sunday

I was snuggled up in my bed with my teddy bear until the phone in my room started ringing. I rolled over, half asleep, and picked it up. I didn't say hello I just picked it up and slammed it back down. Thinking I was going back to sleep uninterrupted, the phone rang again. I repeated the same steps but this time I picked it up and laid the receiver on my dresser so no calls could go through. Lauren went back to sleep but was awakened two hours later by a knock on her door.

"Laur, sorry to wake you and the girls, but Temetrius and some guy name Kelly are downstairs in the living room," Auntie Netta said

We all sat up and looked at each other. "What are they doing here?" Leslie asked

"Is that who was calling?" Lisa added in

"Probably" Stephanie said

We all got out of bed and put on robes and fuzzy slippers before heading down to the living room to see what was going on.

"Good morning Laur" Ja chuckled a bit

"Hey guys" we all said

Things was quiet and everyone just looked at each other. "Why are y'all here?" Steph broke the ice

"We just came back from playing a game of basketball and I realized I have some chemistry homework that I need help with" Ja explained

"I just wanted to see if Steph would like to go grab a snow cone later" Kelly said nervously

"Auntie netta is that fine with you?"Steph and Lauren asked her

"Fine with me. Be home by 7 it's a Sunday" Auntie Netta smiled

"Well Laur, I'll see you at 1?" Ja asked

"Of course. See ya in two hours" Lauren sighed and then laughed a bit
