Lauren was coming here, and I had to make sure I was looking fly! I settled on black gym shorts, a beater, and Nike slides. Putting a dab of cologne on my neck, I heard the doorbell ring. I had to get to it before my mother answered and embarrassed me. I got downstairs, and Ma was already chatting up Lauren.

"Oh hey, Ja," Lauren smiled

"Hi, Lauren. Mom, I'll take it from here."

"Relax, Tee baby; I won't embarrass you. Lauren was telling me about her skincare routine." I looked at my mother with pleading eyes, and she sighed. She told Lauren it was nice meeting her, and we entered my room.

"Leave that door open," Ma yelled. Lauren laughed and looked at me. What made her laugh more was that my face was as red as the top she had on.

"You have a pretty clean room for a guy." Lauren laughed and sat on my bed

"I try. You never know when a beautiful lady may come over."

"Really? And how many beautiful ladies been in here?" Lauren said

"Truth be told... You are the third girl I've let into my house, let alone my room."

I could tell by how she looked at me she was trying to see if I was lying. But I was telling the truth. After a few moments of silence, we pulled out our chemistry work and started working.

Two hours later

"My brain is fucking frying right now!" "You? My mind is mush. I thought you were good in chemistry?" Ja asked

"I am, but the work was tough as hell to get the correct answer for some of these." She laughed

"Let's do something to relax our minds," Lauren suggested

"Yeen said nothing but a word," Ja said and stood up

"Down, boy. I was thinking we check out your CD collection." Lauren pointed to the stack of CDs I had.

She settled on hip hop and RnB. Superstar by Usher played on the stereo and I sat there watching Lauren vibe. She had some of the prettiest and clearest skin I have ever seen, outside of mine. Her smile was so perfect and pretty I couldn't help but wonder how her lips felt?

"Gosh you're so beautiful" Ja said forgetting that Lauren could hear him

Lauren stopped singing and she looked down, playing with her fingers.

"I-I'm sorry. That didn't mean to come out" I said kind of embarrassed

"You think I'm beautiful?" Lauren asked

"Fucking gorgeous" I got close to her

"Well, I think you're quite handsome Temetrius"

The way she said my name sent shivers down my spine. I cupped her chin and started leaning in to kiss her until my room door flew open and in came Lauren's sister and Kelly.

"Woah!" They said

"Kelly! Get out!" He yells

"It's ok Ja, I'll see you in school tomorrow" Lauren grabbed her things and drug Steph out with her.

"I'm sorry man, your mom said we could come up" Kelly explained

"It's alright man." I sighed

"Where you really about to do that?"

"Yeah man, I'm really digging her. Hopefully she feeling the same way"

I smiled to myself at the thought of Lauren liking me back.

"Oh my gosh!!!" The twins screamed on the other end of the phone

Stephanie, Lisa, Leslie, and I were currently on four way talking about what happened with Ja and I.

"We would've kissed had Stephanie and Kelly not burst in when they did" I shot Steph the middle finger.

"So you like like him?" Lisa asked

"And are y'all gonna go together?" Leslie added

"I'm crushing so hard on him! But.."

"But what?" Steph asked. "His ex. I know she isn't over him and I would hate to have to box a hoe"

"Forget whatever she say to you. If you like Ja, tell him" the girls said

"Yall right. I'll tell him at lunch tomorrow"

We wrapped up the four way call and prepared for school tomorrow. I couldn't believe I was currently crushing on the schools basketball star.
