By itself Aegon's fleet lacked the power to break through the Sea Snakes chokehold on the Gullet and Aegon's overtures to Dalton Greyjoy of Pyke had failed this fair to sun the Iron Islands to his side, The fleets of Tyrosh, alys, and Myr would be a more than enough match for the Velaryons.

Otto had sent word that if the Magisters would clear the Gullet of the Sea Snakes ships and open the lanes once again, he promised them trading rights at the landing and to cede the StepStones to the three daughter even if in truth the Iron Throne never won those isles.

The Triarchy never moved quickly, lacking a true king all important decisions were decided by the High Council. Eleven magisters with each city made up its own membership, with each man demonstrating his own sagacity, shrewdness and importance and winning every possible advantage for his own city.

Grand Maester Greyson, the man who wrote the history of the Kingdom of the three daughters fifty five decades later had disc robes it as "thirty three horses and each one pulling in their own direction." Even with issues as timely as a war, peace and alliance they were held to a never ending debate however the High Council was never even in session as Otto's ravens arrived.

The wait didn't sit well with Aegon, he had run out of patience for his grandfathers need to verify everything he wanted to do, Alicent had spoke defensively about her father making her son ignore her pleading. Aegon had called his grandfather into the throne room and ripped the chain of office from his neck.

He had then tossed it to Ser Criston Cole "My new hand is a steel fist, We are done with fighting letters." Aegon said in front of Ottos face. Criston hastily proved his mettle "it is not for you to plead for support from your Lords like a beggar pleading for food." He stated to Aegon.

"You are the lawful king of Westeros and those who deny it are in fact traitors. it is  past time they learned the price to treason." he burned into Aegons head. The lords being held against their will under the red keep will pay the price as they once swore to defend the birthright of Princess Rhaenyra.

Stubborn as some were they refused to bend the knee to Aegon, one by one each who refused were dragged to the castle ward where the King's Justice waited for them with his large axe, of course they were given one final change to swear their alliance to Aegon, His Grace; The Lords Butterwell, Storkworth and Rosby decided to bend the knee to Aegon.

As for Lords Hayford, Merryweather, Harte, Buckler, Caswell, and Lady Fell Stuck by Rhaenyras side and valued it more than their own lives only to end up Beheaded. Their heads mounted on spikes above the city gates.

His Grace, Aegon. Also deeply desired to avenge the murder of his son Prince Jaehaerys by Blood and Cheese which of course means an attack to DragonStone. As Aegon readied to leave for DragonStone on dragonback to end the reign of his half-sister and her "Bastard Sons." it took the whole Green Council to make His Grace change course.

See Criston had another idea, The "Pretender Princess" had made use of the stealth and treachery to slay Prince Jaehaerys "Let us do the same." Criston spat out "We will pay the Princess back with her own bloody coin." Criston said with a murderous grin as he smiled at King Aegon.

The ploy the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard chose the kings vengeance with was no doubt his sworn brother, Ser Arryk Cargyll.

Ser Arryk was indeed familiar with the House Targaryens ancient seat, had he visited often while King Viserys was still alive. Fisherman still relied on Blackwater Bay for the sea as food substance on DragonStone; it was as simple to deliver Ser Arryk to the village under the castle.

From there he could clearly make his way to the Queen, Ser Arryk and Erryk were identical twins, respectfully not even their Kingsguard could tell them apart "Once clad in white, Ser Arryk would be able to move freely in DragonStone." Criston said in confidence knowing the guards that do encounter him will most certainly mistake Arryk as his brother.

Ser Arryk didn't take the mission light of heart, He visited the Red Keeps's sept on the night he was going to sail. He prayed for forgiveness to the heavens above, As kingsguard he is sworn to obey his king and commander. He hand no choice but to make his way to DragonStone in a fisherman's garb in honor.

The true purpose of Ser Arryk's mission remains contention. Ser Arryk had been commanded to Slay Queen Rhaenyra and put and end to her rebellion.

Arryk went ashore without without hindrance, donned his armor and white cloak with no trouble slipping through the entrance of the castle. Posing as his twin, while he made his way through the corridors the gods had brought the brothers face to face with each other.

See Erryk knew what his twins presence meant at the castle "I love you, brother." Erryk said sorrowfully as he revealed his blade, and Ser Arryk replied "And i love you, brother." as he drew his own sword.

"But you're a traitor" They both said.

Both twins clashed their steel swords together for an hour and woke half of the Queens court, no man nor woman could tell which was Arryk or Erryk.

Ser Erryk standing above his two on the spiral steps, struck the first flesh blow. A downward cut that took his brothers sword off the shoulder. As Arryk fell he clasped onto his brothers white cloak and pulled him closer as he drove a dagger deep into his brothers stomach.

See Arryk was dead before the Guards arrived but Erryk took four to five days to eventually die from the wound on his gut, screaming in agony and cursing his brother, the traitor.

Back in King's Landing, Aegon's whisperer, Larys Strong the Clubfoot had written a list of the Lords so resided on DragonStone to attended Queen Rhaenyra's coronation and sat on her black council.

Lords Celtigar and Velaryon had their seats on Islands; as Aegon had no strength at sea, they were beyond his reach. The Lords who's land were near the mainlands enjoyed no protection.

A Hundred knights and five hundred at arms of the royal house, Criston Marched on Rosby and Stokeworth, the lords who recently repented their allegiance to Rhaenyra, adding power and loyalty to Criston and Aegon.

Criston's host advanced towards the walled harbor of Duskendale, where they had taken them by surprise and the town now ruined with she ships set ablaze. His house knights and garrison had to make a choice "Swear Your swords to King Aegon or share your Lords fate." Criston said smugly as he watched and heard most choose to swear their sword.
