A new light

It was a normal afternoon for eda and raine, eda was in the living room  reading a book, and raine was making tea. Then eda heard a knock on the door. "EDA!! Hoot hoot! Somebody left a basket for you!!" Eda heard booty yell from outside. "What? Who would leave a basket here?" Eda opened the door and looked down. "Hm? What's in it?" Eda brought it inside and set it in the couch. She moved the blanket and saw an infant sleeping with another blanket wrapped around it "ohh... Shit..." Eda Instantly regretted cursing in front of  a baby,  "umm rainestorm! Can you come here for a second?" She called out to raine, they came up beside her shortly after, and caught sight of the baby. "W-woah! Eda where'd this baby come from?" Eda picked up the infant and looked at raine "i don't know, somebody left it on our doorstep!" Eda saw raines eyes light up, "can I hold her!" Eda gave raine the baby and eda looked through the basket to see if this kid had any reconishion, she saw adoption papers, a note and all the information on the child. It indeed was a girl, her name was Luz,  her birthday was March 3rd, and she was only a month old. Raine was holding the baby as eda kept going through her information. "Please take care of my daughter, I am deathly Ill and won't be able to take care of her, my last dying wish is for who ever finds her, to give her a good home and parents" eda said while reading the note. "Can we keep her eda?!" Raine asked full of joy. Eda looked at the card then at the child. "Are you sure? I mean I have no idea how to raise a child" they both sat down looking at the baby, raine handed her back to eda, and the baby soon woke up. "Umm.. Raine?" Raine had went back to the kitchen, and when the baby caught sight of eda, she started giggling. And her laugh was contagious. The baby reached her hands out for eda and tried taking her wedding ring. Of course she couldn't take it off, but kept trying anyway. Eda didn't really know what to do with her, but the baby seemed to take a instant liking to eda. The baby got comfortable I  eda's arms and went back to sleep. Right then that little baby touched eda's heart. Raine soon came back with a cup of something blened. "Rainestorm... " eda said still looking at the infant. "What's up calamity?" Eda looked up at Raine who was now sitting beside her again. "I think I want to keep her" Raine smiled  "guess were parents then" this little girl was different from most baby's, she never really cried unless she was hungry or needed a diaper change, other than that Luz was a joyful little girl, the next few weeks were quite the adventure. Raine bad already gotten everything the baby would need, a crib, toys, clothes and baby formula. Raine was feeding Luz while eda did the finishing touches on  the baby's room. Luz wasn't very picky when it came to food, so feeding her was an easy job, "ahhh... Come on Luz" Raine mumbled while feeding her, then eda came down and just leaned over a counter watching them. Luz's mindless babbling was adorable, but it was hard to tell what she wanted. "Come on Luz.. Just swallow" Raine muttered "you know I can feel you staring calamity" eda walked over to Raine and Luz, and leaned over the table. Luz usually turned her head when she didn't want anymore, but this time. She let out a mild baby yell and a ball of light appeared. "Woah, this kid.. Did magic" they were both confused, baby's don't start doing magic until about 1 year old and even then it's small magic like a few vines on the floor. Nothing else really happened for a few days, Luz usually played with hooty as if he could understand her, then eda saw they were low on food and formula. "Rainestorm! I'm going to the market!" She put on a cloak and put the hood over her head, the last thing she needed was for people to find out the infamous owl lady has a second weakness, a helpless child. Eda quickly went into the baby store to get formula for Luz, but while shopping she saw her sister there, "lily?" Eda whispered to herself, Lilith was getting things that were more for toddlers, not babies.  Eda caught herself staring at her sister who looked her way, eda quickly paid for the baby formula and went to get food for herself and raine. But felt like she was being followed, eda pulled out a hand mirror from her hair, and looked around from behind her. A little trick she taught herself. And as she thought her sister was following her. Eda quickly payed for the food and took the long way home. When she arrived, she was shocked. Raine was cornered there were mini abominations vines and on top of that Luz was hitting pots and pans turning them into Bard magic. "Woah!" But eda quickly assessed the situation. She made a large spell circle and said with a stern voice "abominations! Cower!" The mini abominations fell and disappeared. Then eda took took the pots and pans to stop the bard spells.  Then eda easily took care of the vines. "Raine e are you okay?" Eda asked picking up Luz. Raine nodded "I would have tried to seal with it, but I didn't want to hurt Luz" eda understood, "how did she do that?" Raine thought back to what happened "well she was playing with hooty and rolling around with her hands in the air, that must of made the spell circle. " but that was some strong magic for a  child, Luz is a baby" eda was about to put Luz down for a nap, when "edalyn.. You have a child?!"
