A free prisoner

Luz cried silently as she watched as her family was taken away. She knew it was for the best though, her parents wouldn't be Harrased by the law. "You made the right choice, I trust you won't run away, or il personally make sure the owl lady has a proper petrification" those words sent a chill down luz's spine. Though she didn't want to say anything, she wanted to ask. "Will I be able to visit them?.." She didn't want to give him a second weakness against herself but she couldn't bare to never see them again. "Since you were so mature, you may visit them sometimes" she was realived but she also knew she couldn't even attempt to escape. "Go to your room, golden guard" she didn't know about any golden guard, but if that was her new role she had to do everything he said, or her family could be at risk, high risk. She had the same room as before, but there was a uniform on the bed, (imagine the original golden guard uniform, but instead of black pants it's a black skirt).  Luz decided to go to sleep, she knew how early she would have to wake up.
The next day, she woke up and put on the uniform. It fit perfectly. Then there was a knock on the door. It was Kikimora. "The emperor is expecting you" Luz didn't say a word, and went to the throne room. "Hello golden guard, I trust you had a good night" he was mocking her, but she couldn't say anything. "I'm sure you have questions about your new role". Luz nodded. " you are the golden guard, my right hand, I'm sure you know what will happen if you try to leave, or fight back" Luz knew, it's why she gave herself to this coven to avoid it from happening. "Go assemble the coven heads" Luz bowed and left, she walked through the halls knocking on each door of the coven heads, some were polite, other said nothing, and most were rude to her, mostly because of her age. This went on for 2 weeks. She would work around the castle, and go on missions for belos, she hated every part if it, but this was what she had to do to keep her family from harm. One particular day, she was instusted to go around the town and look for any wild witches.  She walked around, nothing out of the ordinary.  When she hears a familiar voice. "Yes, do you have apple blood?" Luz walked closer to the sound, it was her aunt. Luz watched carefully, just to hear her family again put her close to tears. Lilith was out buying things for the house. Luz took off her mask to get a better look, hoping maybe her parents were with her as well. Lilith turned around, and saw Luz, acting on instinct, she grabbed her items and ran towards her. Luz seeing this put her mask back on and ran away. Lilith of course followed her.  Luz ran through the crowds and then an ally way by mistake. "Luz! It's me!" Lilith said finally catching up to her. Luz didn't saw a word. She couldn't risk it. "Luz?.." Lilith didn't understand why Luz wouldn't speak, she hasn't seen them in 2 weeks.  Luz casted a spell leavitating her self away from Lilith and back to the castle, in tears the entire way. Lilith immediately ran to the owl house. To see Raine in kitchen and eda on the couch. "I saw luz!" Lilith yelled. Both eda and Raine stopped what they were doing, "what!? Where!?" Eda asked. "In the market, but.."   "But what Lilith!? Is she okay?" Raine asked. "She seemed fine, but she's.. The new golden guard" both eda and Raine were shocked. "What!? Why would belos make her the golden guard!?  Eda asked, it was truly confusing, but they all soon came to realize, they were the reason belos could trust her, other wise they or herself could be hurt, or killed.

With Luz:
Luz went straight to her room, she saw her aunt, but couldn't talk to her. Luz was soon called to see belos. She always got nervous walking in that throne room. She stood before the emperor, and kneeled. " hello golden guard, find any wild witches?"     "No.. Sir"   "what did you see then?" Luz knew he probably had eyes on her, but just in case. "The market is still very lively, although there are some whispers about a small rebellion uprising soon, they won't be a threat"  Luz had heard such things, but deep down she was extremely afraid. One wrong move and she could put her family in danger. "Very good, you may have a visit with your family" Luz was over the moon, but tried not to show it, she knew she wouldn't be able to stay long. "You may go tomorrow morning, you have untill 6 pm with them, if your late, you'll be punished" Luz was very excited although she still had a lot of work to do today. It was only 4 in the afternoon, so she left and started on her afternoon duties. She first checked all the guards post around and outside the castle. Most of the scouts didn't like her, dispute having to respect her, she was their superior. In fact her role was higher than a coven head. She then checked on the prisoners in the dungeon. After that she was instructed to check on each coven head. She always saved Terra for last, it was the highlight
Of her day to mess with her. "Hello, Terra" when Terra saw the golden uniform, she was immediately in a bad mood. "Ugh, what do you want"    "now Terra, is that any way to speak to the golden guard?" Luz said mocking her. "I just wanted to give you this" Luz handed her a book, when Terra looked at it, she saw it was a book of puns. "Read the first few chapters, maybe then you'll be funny" Luz left and finished the rest of her duties. She ate at 7 pm every night. Then went to bed at 9. The next day Luz was very excited. She got ready but still had to wear her uniform. Including the mask. She informed the emperor that she was leaving, and he again reminded her if what would happen if she wasn't back by 6. Luz stopped at her room, and went under her bed, even though Luz was under aged to work she still got paid, so she took the money with her, she knew it would be safe there. She ran through the town and market, and stopped at the woods. She made flower crowns for her family, red and yellow ones for her parents and different shades of blue for Lilith. She ran as fast as she could to get home. When she saw her house. Hooty caught sight of her immediately. "LUZZ!! LUZ YOUR BACK!!" hooty screamed. Hooty grabbed her in a hug, with his body. "Hey hooty!!" Luz was I  tears seeing her best friend again. "Is everyone okay?"    "Hooty then got sad. "Eda and Raine aren't doing well, but they will be a whole lot better when they see you!!"  Hooty said.  Luz knocked on the door, and put her mask back on. "Can I help y-" Lilith said opening the door. She was so shocked to see Luz, but she was still in her golden guard uniform. "Hey auntie lily... " Lilith started crying and hugged Luz tightly. "Oh my Titan! Luz! I'm so glad your okay!" Luz hugged her back and started crying herself, but you couldn't tell because of the mask. "Your parents miss you so much..."   She had no words she was just so happy to be home. "Where are they?" Lilith let go of luz, not wanting to answer.  "Aunt lily, where are they?.." Luz asked again. Lilith lead Luz inside, and pointed up. She assumed they were in their room. But they weren't there, the room looked untouched. So she looked in the bathroom, they weren't there either, so she looked in her room. She opened the door quietly. And saw her parents laying on top of her bed. Luz again started crying.  Her parents were there, in her room, because she had them leave her behind. She quietly stepped in and out her snails in her closet. Then walked up to her bed. "Is it.. Better than a nest?" Luz asked softly. Both eda and Raine froze. We're they crazy? Or was Luz really there. They looked up and saw their daughter in a golden uniform with a mask in her hands. It really was Luz. Eda and Raine slowly got up, carfuly touching her cheek. "Luz?.. Is it.. Really you?" Raine asked. It only took Luz to smile before her parents pulled her into a hug. "I missed you guys to" she said, she could feel their tears on her neck and shoulders. "What happened to the invincible owl lady?" Luz asked teasing. They just cried, hugging their child again after 2 weeks with no contact with her at all. It took about an hour for things to calm down. Luz was playing with hooty, and eda was just watching her.  "Hey mom! I made these for you guys" Luz gave them the flower crowns she made them before coming. "Thanks kiddo! I'm so glad your home.." Luz felt a little guilty, she knew she couldn't stay. "Umm... Actually.. I.. Can't stay"   eda Raine and Lilith were surprised. "What?.. Why not!?" Eda asked. "I'm.. The golden guard now.. Belos's right hand... I did well on a mission recently so he said I could visit for the day.."      "Luz you can just stay here... With us.. Please?.." Raine pleaded. "I'm sorry, I'm doing this for you guys" they didn't want to bug her to much about it. Instead they all spent time together. They laughed, and messed around, just like they used to. "And that's when I used a fire spell to beat the gate keeper of the enchanted emerald dagger!" Luz said. "Wow kiddo, your going on all these dangerous mission.."    "Yeah! And I got this scar to!" Luz says pointing to her leg. "That's my girl.. Tough as nails!"  Eda said pulling Luz on her lap. "Luz.. Do you have a sigil?" Lilith asked. Luz pulled up her glove, there was no sigil. "He said.. That I didn't need a sigil.. For him the punish me if I failed.. It tried to run away"    "but that doesn't matter, if I keep doing well, I'll be able to see you guys" eda Raine and Lilith didn't like the sound of belos punishing her, hoping he didn't mean he would hit her.  Luz looked at the time it was 4 pm. She had been here since 8. "Hey guys.. I'm really sorry... For making you guys leave"  her family sat around her. "How did you find out you were adopted?" Raine asked. "I found my papers in.. Your drawer...moms hair" Luz always loved searched through edas hair as a kid.  "And.. Your not mad?" Luz shook her head. "You guys still loved me, regardless. So why would I be mad?"  Her parents were relived she wasn't mad, but soon Luz had to go. "I'll.. See you guys when I can" she said opening the door. "Luz please... Just stay with us.." Eda pleaded. Luz put on her mask and left, her family watched her leave, Luz only had 10 minutes to get back to the castle. She ran as fast as she could. Through the woods, then the town and market. She made it just in time to. She went to her room, and went under her bed again. And pulled out an notebook, with her plans of defeating belos. She was getting out of her one way or another, and nothing was stopping her.
