Noah Pov

When Celine walked past, I caught her intoxicating scent; a sweet vanilla with a hint of coconut and a bit of something else. I could hear Chad cackling behind me.

"What are you laughing about?" I turned around.

"You, dude," He smiled as he spoke, "You're so whipped and she hasn't even been here for a day."

    "I'm not."

"Not what?" Celine turned back to us, furrowing her brows.

"Yeah Noah, not what?" Chad mocked.

"Nothing, don't worry about it," I tried to steer the conversation, "Let's go sit down."

I quickly scuttled to a table, hearing Chad giggle like a toddler. Celine went up to Mr. Jones and Chad continued to berate me.

    "So...."

    "What?" I sharply responded.

"When are you gonna make your move?" His eyes got so big as his pupils dilated.

    "What do you mean?"

"You never tell me anything," He huffed, "When are you going to fuck her?"

"You're gross, stop talking like that."

"Bro throughout lunch you kept checking your phone for her. Stop lying; you already admitted that you wanted her. Even though I called dibs!"

"Shut up; she's walking over here," Celine shyly approached us, not saying a word as she sat down.

"Did Jones yell at you or something?" Chad began to tease Celine.

"What? No," she picked her head up and faced Chad.

"Then why are you acting all shy?" I knew what he was doing: trying to rile her up and from what I could tell, it was working.

    "I'm not."

"Why are you getting so defensive?"

    "What no, I'm no-"

"You so are. If Mr. Jones didn't bother you then do you just not want to sit with us?"

    "No!"

"So you don't want to sit with us?" Her face gradually became redder as Chad continued.

    "I didn't say that!"

"But you just said no," Chad faked a pout.

    "No! I-"

"There, you said it again. You don't want to sit with us."

    "Wait let me finish-"

"Wow, Celine, I wanted to be friends."

    "Hold on!"

"You must really dislike us since you obviously don't want to sit with us."

"Of course, I want to sit with you guys!" Celine practically yelled as she fought to get a word in.

"Oh wow, thanks but you didn't have to yell you know," Chad dramatically fanned himself then cracked a smile, revealing his trap to Celine.

Celiene's eyes went wide, "You little-"

"Play nice," I chuckled at their childish performance.

I noticed Celine looking at me with curious eyes, dragging her gaze further down my body. Mr. Jones started the lesson and her attention was snatched away. Look at me again, I begged inside my mind. Please, look at me. No matter how many times I asked her to focus on me instead, she still sat there, facing Jones and writing notes. I groaned and earned a confused look from Chad.

While Mr. Jones droned on about physics and all of its very important qualities, I couldn't help but glance at Celine. Her hair draped over her shoulders as she quickly scribbled on her paper. Her eyes would move from the sheet to Jones and then back to the notebook. She would lightly frown every once in a while when she got confused. I watched when her eyebrows would raise. I started watching her chest rise and fall so slowly. It stayed in the same rhythm, slowly hypnotizing me, in and out, in and out. I looked further up at her neck. It was so smooth and had little beauty marks scarcely placed all over. I must've been staring for a while because I was interrupted by Jones's annoying voice.

"Ah yes, Noah. Can you repeat what I just said?" He folded his arms across his chest and stood still, successfully directing the class's attention to me.

"Yeah.. uh.." I looked at Chad.

    "Newtonian mechanics," He whispered.

    "Newtonian mechanics."

"Thank you, Chad for paying attention. Noah, I'd strongly advise you to stop gawking at Ms. Allaire and focus on my lesson."

"Yes sir, sorry," My entire face went into flames as he called me out.

For the rest of the class, I gave him my utmost attention, regardless of the boring topic. When school finally ended, Chad made up an excuse to leave me with Celine.

"Hey so I gotta go", He quickly spoke.

    "What, why?" Celine questioned.

"Eliza needs me to help her with a project," I could tell he was lying as he scratched the back of his head.

"That's weird. Eliza said she wanted to hang out after school."

"I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you can hang out with Noah instead?" He grinned and then sped off to God knows where.

"That was weird," She kept looking in the direction he went, confusion laced in her expression.

"He's always like that. So, do you want to hang out?" Thank god for Chad and his loyalty to me.

"Sure, but I gotta take my textbooks home," Her amber eyes piercing into mine.

    "All of them?"

"Yeah, I'm trying to catch up."

"I could help with that actually. Do you need a ride home?"

"No thanks, I have my motorcycle," She unknowingly triggered a new fantasy of mine.

"Well, I'm sure it can't hold all your books. Maybe I could hold a few of them and then we meet up at your place to hang out?" I quickly pounced at the chance to see her house.

"Uh, maybe we could drop off the books and go somewhere else? I'm not sure if my parents would be okay with it."

"Yeah, I have a place in mind. What's your address? I'll grab the books."

"29987 Gardenville Rd," It hit me like a bag of rocks; Celine is my neighbor.
