Shay's POV
Three weeks passed and I finally closed on a house. Blake told me not to worry about moving everything once I had it packed. He got his family at 51 to help move everything in. It was my first day at a new job and I got there early. I walked into the 21st and Trudy buzzed me up. I walked into Hank's office and closed the door. "Thank you for doing this for me," I nodded.
"You said you wanted a late start, I had to poach you and get you on Intelligence," Hank replied. "I know you're good. You've solved cases for me on the side, so what we're going to do is real hands on training."
"You're putting me out in the field?" I asked.
"Yeah, and Halstead is your partner," Hank nodded.
"Wait, Jay's back with Intelligence?" I asked.
"It's my team, Shay," Hank stated. "I can staff it how I see fit." I looked at him. "Is that going to be a problem?"
"No," I quickly answered.
"Let's go tell everybody," Hank nodded. We walked out of the office. "Alright, everyone. Listen up."
"This has to be good news," Kevin stated.
"I want you guys to welcome Shayleen Clarke —"
"Gallo," I corrected Hank. "I took my husband's last name."
"Okay, Shayleen Gallo, to Intelligence," Hank stated. "Make her feel welcomed." I nodded as Hank handed me a gun and shield. "Your call sign is 5021 Frank."
"She gets to take Antonio's call sign?" Jay asked.
"We can change it to Foxtrot," Hank nodded. "I forgot that was Antonio's call sign."
"Okay," I replied.
"Oh, and Halstead, she's your partner," Hank pointed.
"What?" Jay asked.
"No arguing," Hank replied as he disappeared into his office.
"Shay," Kim stated. "I wanna see pictures."
"Right," I smiled. I walked over to her and got out my phone. I clicked on my pictures. "I wish you could've been there. I think you, Adam, and Mac would've liked it."
"Look at you in that bikini!" Kim snatched my phone. "Kev, look at your sister showing off that scar."
"I'm good," Kevin stated.
"Jay's the reason I'm alive," I stated. "He was there when I was shot." I got my phone back. "But, Hawaii, again, it's beautiful. I think you guys would enjoy it. Oh, and I got a house."
"You did?" Kim smiled. I showed her the picture. "That's not the one you showed me before."
"No, because I found this one," I smiled. "It's a three bed, two and a half bath."
"When's your house warming?" Adam asked.
