"Alright, Jean. We get it. You love Y/N." Armin muttered tiredly from his slouched position on the floor, teasing the brunette in question.

We were currently trying to build the first train track in Paradis: a plan proposed and advocated for by Eren himself. Something about wanting to feel involved?

To be honest, I had been doing most of the hard work, yet I remained unfazed. Unlike Sasha and Connie who wouldn't stop begging me to put them out of their misery.

I wore a white button up with my top 2 buttons undone, black slacks and a hat to shield my face from the sun's harsh rays. I strolled past the boys, holding four metal planks in each of my arms.

"Now you're just sayin' things!" The brunette screamed, gritting his teeth at Armin. To be honest, the mullet he had grown suited him quite a bit.

"Yeah, does that explain why you've been talking about her non stop?" Sasha groaned.

I acted oblivious to the conversation and zoned out.

Everyone seemed to be happy.

Without realising it, I had found out that my eyes had unintentionally drifted to Eren. He was working on nailing the tracks down.

I hadn't realised until now that he was watching me too. My cheeks instantly became hot and I abruptly turned around to conceal the newfound redness of my face.

I lowered the metal beams and wiped a bead of sweat off of my face. Placing a hand on my hip, I took my hat off to use it to fan myself.

My eyes were narrowed into a squint as I attempted to reduce the effects the sun had on my eyes. Armin and Sasha were running around, Jean scolding Eren for even suggesting work in this heat. Surprisingly, Connie was working and Mikasa was doing the same.

I just watched from a distance, never wanting this to change.

I almost didn't notice Hange's ear piercing scream from a distance until Sasha announced her and Levi's arrival.

"Hange and the Captain are here!"

I swivelled my head around to see Hange and Levi riding up to us on horses. My hard gaze softened and I put my hat back on as I slid my hands into my pockets, walking up to the group.
