The classroom is dead silent.
Aizawa looks at him with something heavy in his dark eyes. “Bakugou–”
Katsuki meets his teacher’s gaze. “I want to make them hurt.”
Shigaraki tries a new recruitment angle. Bakugou isn't impressed.

Bakugou Katsuki has only ever loved two people in his life.
He’s pretty sure he liked Deku when they were fucking toddlers, maybe, and he still holds something close to fondness for Auntie Inko and, sure, he idolizes All Might and trusts Aizawa and, shut the fuck up fine, he doesn’t completely hate the members of the idiot parade and the rest of his shitty fucking class.
But love?
His mom. His dad. That’s it.
Katsuki knows it’s not obvious. He and his dad sit in silence most of the time and most conversations with his mom tend to dissolve into screaming matches drowned in jabs and insults. But the silence is comfortable. It quiets his mind. The screaming matches are familiar. They make him laugh.
His parents are the only two people who have ever seen him and understood him. Two people, Katsuki thinks, only two people to protect.
The universe takes note of that; considers it a challenge.
Like most of the worst days of his life, the whole thing is a goddamn public spectacle.
It’s homeroom, and Aizawa has the projector set up for the hero ethics presentations due today. He switches to his email to open the first slideshow when the screen glitches.
