“I already said!” Nia groaned “Look, I just, they’re happy enough on their own, I hardly need to muck it up.”
“Friend Nia being down on self! Do that lots actually.” Tora frowned “Rex-Rex could be talking to Architect himself and still try to include friends in conversation. No need for worry.”
“Look, Tora, just back off alright?”
“Friend Mio!” Tora and Nia both looked surprised as Poppi took the initiative “Would mind swapping seats with friend Nia? Poppi would like to learn game too.”
“Oh, yeah sure if Nia doesn’t mind.”
“I’m sure my lady would prefer to sit with Master Rex anyways. No offense Tora.”
“Tora not take any.”
Nia snapped her head around to Poppi, but her anger quickly faded as she saw just how innocent and proud the girl looked. “Poppi solve problem?”
“I- yeah sure.” Nia swapped her seat, and almost mentally prepared herself to be ignored by the duo when.
“Hey, Nia.” Rex nudged her side “Nia!”
“What d’ya want?!”
“I need your input on this!” Rex whined, “Because Pyra didn’t believe me, and Mio didn’t know what a Squood even was.”
“The hell are you talking about Squoods for?”
“Rex here, wants me to believe he fought one Salvaging one time.” Pyra crossed her arms “And I don’t think he should be making up stories to impress me.”
“Ah come on! I didn’t say I won or nothin, had to run like hell actually! But I definitely tussled with one back in the day!”
“Back in the day?” Nia snorted “Gonna talk about your back actin’ up as well.”
“It happened a year ago! That’s long enough to say back in the day!”
“You are a miserly old man in a child’s body!”
“I would be a miserly middle-aged man at worst!”
“And he’d be ripped.” Pyra muttered wistfully.
Rex’s face flushed, while Nia’s scrunched up at the comment. “What was that Pyra?”
“Secret.” Pyra sipped her tea smugly.
Nimue had slowly but surely gotten used to life in Torna. Not that she was even sure there was much to get used to considering she was only born a few days ago. What she did know, was that her driver was a very motivated person. The moment he picked up her weapon he dedicated himself to mastering it. Normally Patroka was keen to help herself to a spar, and more importantly an easy victory, but even with her out on business, Taion was improving himself day by day.
“I must admit, I’m quite impressed.” Akhos adjusted his glasses as Taion pushed him back “You’ve managed to master so many types of weapons, and yet you still seem to fall short against me.”
“Watch out Akhos! Your ego’s showing!” Obrona cackled.
“Well to be fair.” Taion blocked a strike from Akhos’ twin blades “My Ouroboros powers allowed me to cheat the system a tad. Learning from scratch has actually been rather refreshing.”
The sound of a large door opening stopped Taion and Akhos both in their tracks. “Seems Jin is back.”
“It would appear that way.” Taion adjusted his glasses “Let's get going.”
