Flames engulfed the horizon, creating chaos, despair, and heartbreak for those whose homes had been destroyed.
From where she was, Katiya felt waves of heat hitting every inch of her body, anger burning in her heart.
The fire of destruction radiating in her golden pupils, emitting hatred for the Sky People, helped her finally understand her parents' fear and anger toward their enemies.
Neytiri's uncontrollable sobs echoing in her ears brought her back to reality as she turned to find her mother crying in her father's arms.
The sight of her strong-hearted mother breaking down broke her heart.
In her father's eyes was an alarming vulnerability she had never seen before.
Throughout the seventeen years of her life, she always knew her father as a man of fortitude. He was Toruk Makto, the mightiest warrior on Pandora who led the clans to victory over their enemies.
Now standing here on high ground, witnessing the death of their home, Jake was shaken with despair.
But while her father displayed fear, Katiya was ready to drive the enemies to their death.

Over the course of two years, the Omaticaya battled the Sky People who ravaged their home.
Their clan leader led ongoing guerrilla operations, in hopes of delaying the enemy's plans by weakening their supply lines.
Today was one of those days.
Below, an explosion erupted as the Omaticaya let out war cries and swooped down on their ikrans to steal the enemy's weapons.
Flying atop a floating mountain, Katiya frowned when she spotted her brothers leaving their formation and following after the others.
"Loak, that skxawng," she cursed, knowing full well that her younger brother was the influence of their action.
As spotters, they were supposed to keep an eye on RDA gunships approaching from high ground.
"Come on, Swana. Let's go fetch their asses," She murmured to her ikran as the creature let out a loud cry.
It was chaos down below as the clan members raided weapon supplies. As a result of the metallic train's explosion, there was a great deal of smoke and flames.
Neteyam and Loak hopped off their ikrans and rushed toward where Norm was handing out guns to the others.
"Get back here, Loak!" Neteyam cried after his younger brother.
After landing her ikran next to her brothers, Katiya dismounted Swana and chased after them.
"Take every one of these, but be careful with those!" Norm's loud voice could be heard from a distance.
Due to his distraction with the supplies, he subconsciously handed Loak a gun. With a foreign weapon in his hand, the boy let out a loud war cry.
