Y'all, I'm crying!

One of my readers made this for me and I had to share it with y'all. I haven't laughed this hard in a while.

Jake scanned the shore, searching for his daughter.

Relief crossed his face when he spotted her sitting on the dock, soaking her feet in the water surrounded by bioluminescent fish.

With a heavy heart, he approached her. As he drew closer, a sense of calm and peace enveloped him as he watched her play with the water.

He smiled, and Katiya looked up, her expression quickly turned grim when she saw him.

Jake sighed and sat down next to her. No words were exchanged as they sat quietly, watching the shimmering fish swim by.

He knew she was angry, and he wanted to say something, to explain his reasons again, but he knew it wouldn't make a difference.

So instead, he reached out and held her hand, hoping his gesture would bridge the gap between them.

She didn't move but he could feel her fingers relax in his grip.

"I'm sorry, baby girl. I can't imagine the pain you're experiencing after losing Swana," he said, sighing softly. "But I know what it's like to lose someone."

Katiya remained silent, unmoving, avoiding her father's eyes as she fixed her gaze on the school of fish below.

"It's okay to grieve," Jake continued. "I know I haven't been there for you lately, and I know it hasn't been easy coming here. But I promise, I'm here for you in any way I can, Kati. Just please... meet me halfway, baby girl."

Katiya let out a shaky breath, her fingers moving slightly in her father's large palm.

"Do you think about Uncle Tommy sometimes?"

Jake smiled, happy that his daughter responded to him.

"All the time."

There was a sense of pain and sadness in his voice.

"I'm sorry, Dad," she whispered, her voice so small it sounded like a child's.

Jake pulled her into a hug and held her tight, letting her know he was there for her.

Katiya breathed in his familiar scent, feeling a wave of comfort wash over her.

She hugged him back and they sat in silence for a few moments, taking solace in each other's presence.

Her father pulled away and flashed her a playful smile.

"How about we play a prank on your siblings? That always makes things better."

Katiya raised an eyebrow and opened her mouth to respond, but stopped when she caught sight of Neteyam and Spider approaching them.

"We need to call Norm," Neteyam said, drawing Jake's attention to him.
