Chapter 3
Motherly Love
The journey through the ruins was a quick and swift one. As Toriel held your hand lecturing you and educating you of life in the underground, you found yourself being somewhat interested in what may lie ahead of you.
Hands intertwined with security and comfort, Toriel led you to another part of the ruins. Thinking it might be another puzzle you look at Toriel waiting for her instructions, but you were met with a warm smile that was plastered on her face, she looked down at you as she led you through the carpeted open doorway. Upon entering the doorway, you were met with the sight of a small room with a railed declining staircase in the middle and two hallways to the left and right of the room, the oak brown flooring polished complemented with the cream white walls decorated with various photos, paintings, and potted plants. A feeling of comfort invaded your senses, the aura emitting off the home caused your nose to burn as tears pricked your eyes. Toriel rested her paw on your shoulder, kneeling down to your face gently caressing it with her other paw, "My child? Why do you cry such tears of sorrow?" she asked a clear tone of worry, you sniffled as more tears poured from your eyes, "It's just, I've never felt such comfort before! For some reason I feel like I belong here..." you explained through wet sniffles. Toriel smiled as she enveloped you in a motherly hug, one you've never felt in your lifetime, "My child your soul shakes with sorrow and worry, for I can tell you've never felt the love of a family. Please allow me to give you that experience. I do not have much here but I can assure you, we will have fun together! A small happy family." Toriel spoke looking at you with hopeful eyes, you instantly nodded.

Toriel grabbed your hand as you softly sniffled, guiding you to the right hallway. Your heel bruised feet brushing against the smooth wood flooring with a long red carpet as you walked with Toriel. Suddenly you both came to a stop with Toriel standing beside you, "Here my child, a very room of your own! I do hope you like it." She happily clasped both her paws together, looking at the coconut-colored door you grabbed the doorknob and slowly opened the door. Entering the room, Toriel watched you with gentle eyes as you explored the room.
You looked around curiously, noticing how there were no tall glass-stained windows, canopy beds, golden engraved flooring, or walk in closets. Just minimal space. It was relieving. The room was small and childlike, but you liked it. The purple small twin platform bed looked very comforting, there were no multiple pillows, just one fluffy one, "Go on my child I always clean this room." Toriel reassured you. With a smile you jump on the bed, your ballgown rising and falling like a balloon until it fluffed around you. Toriel walked in after you softly chuckled, "Hmm, that dress is horribly my child. Why not try some of the clothes in the nightstand? They should fit you!" she offered; you sat up moving the layers of the gown before nodding.

Stripping off the many layers that gave the ball gown its floaty illusion, you walked to the nightstand and opened the lower cabinets. Scavenging around you found a white turtleneck and a pair of black pinup shorts, an odd combo for the turtleneck but at least your legs would be able to breathe. You grab the clothing and walk out the room, "Dear child, your bath is warm and ready! Do take your time." Toriel called from what seemed to be the kitchen as the smell of butterscotch and cinnamon filled your nose, better make this bath quick you haven't eaten in a hot minute.
Sinking in the warm water of the large tub, you relax into the warm sensation of the steamy room. Reaching for the bar of soap you give it a small sniff, Rosemary and Sage? Oh, with a hint of citrus!' you thought, what an odd combination yet what a wonderful scent. Using the knitted cotton cloth, you lather the soap into the fabric and begin to scrub yourself down, being sure to be gentle around your heel and any other slightly scarred spots while also doing a deep scrub in your hair. Once finished you rose from the tub carefully stepping out as you took in the sight of your appearance once more in the mirror above the sink. Your face was now clean, no makeup or anything, just your bare natural face. It felt good for once the weight from the products applied to try and hide your scars, made your face feel oily and stiff yet when cleaned it was light, your wet kinky curly hair now hung with droplets of water falling from the strands of hair, "This is going to be a pain to dry and style." you mumbled to yourself as your onyx brown eyes scanned your body, noticing a visible bleeding scratch on your knee. You lick your thumb and rub the small bleeding scar, "My child if you are finished, please meet me in the living room, I have a surprise!" Toriel called from beyond the door. Looking away from the mirror you sigh and begin to moisturize your body with the bottle of lotion you found on the edge of the tub, thinking to yourself once more as you moisturized your legs and worked your way up.
