As the early morning lights woke me from my sleep I'm greeted with a sleeping Kit facing me, her soft features glowing as she calmly lays there. I can't help but smile, a warm feeling consumes me as I notice the minimal distance between our hands, I'm tempted to close the gap, hold her hand in mine then fall back asleep but the sound of someone sniffing makes me look the other way.

I turn to see Boorman giving me an odd look, a childish smirk as he wiggles his eyebrows at me "shut up" I hiss at him, seems Jade was also waking up, slowly lifting herself from the ground as she looks around the area. "The kitchen maid?" She questions, I look around as well and notice the girl is nowhere to be seen "She's gone when I woke up. Yeah, one night of sleeping on the hard ground will cure anyone of their romantic fantasies" Boorman tells the two of us, as he says that I turn to look at Kit again. "Maybe she kept going" Jade inquires "I doubt it" I laugh slightly, I don't take her as the kind of girl to just go off on her own like that, although she did seem pretty serious about saving Arik no matter what... maybe I think so little of her. "Nah, unless she found the gate, She won't get across that gorge," Boorman says.

We sit for a little while, waiting for the others to also wake up so we can pack up and keep moving, Jade and I shared a little conversation while Boorman played with his massive sword thing, I really need to ask him what it is because I'm truly clueless.

Once the others had woken up we packed up our things from sleeping and got the horses ready to keep moving. We weren't too far from the barrier so it wouldn't take long to get to the gate.

After a bit of riding, we could already see it in the distance, despite the reasoning for us being here I could tell Kit was still the tiniest bit excited, this was something she had always dreamed of doing, talked about it constantly when we were kids. Going beyond the barrier, seeing what else the world has to offer that's not inside the walls of the kingdom. I turn around to give her an excited look, one that she instantly returns.

Once we got to the gate things weren't even close to what I expected them to be, no one was there, and it felt weird and wrong. There was a banging sound coming from the side, it was constant, and the air was still cool which only made it eerier. "where is everyone?" I ask the group, getting down from my horse and looking around a little bit "Armory is untouched, if they fled they went in a hurry" Jade tells us, walking over to stand next to me, Kit starts to call out to us "they'd never abandon their post" Kase comments, Kit calls out to us once more, finally getting our attention.

We all turn to look at a large stone wall covered in some sort of writing, how we missed it I'm not sure but we did. It was in a language I didn't know and by the looks on everyone else's faces they didn't know either... well most of them. "we stand at the threshold" Graydon reads out, we all turn to look at him, waiting for him to read the rest "We peer into the void. We bear witness to his glory. The eternal one, the healer of worlds" As he said the final part the ground slightly shakes, I swear to god if he is summoning something I'm going to be so mad. He keeps reading "As he stirs from his deathless slumber deep below the surface, the Harbinger of the Wyrm will come" As he finished reading the ground starts to shake more, making it hard to stay standing, I grab onto my house to help stabilize myself. It doesn't last long though which is good.

"what the hell happened?" I question, once the ground stops shaking "Im not sure" Graydon replies " Come on! let's just keep moving" Jade orders us, taking charge once more. We all agree and quickly get back onto our horses then begin down the path once more.

We ride for a while till Kit and Jade spot a certain blond-haired girl off in the distance walking alone. "unbelievable" Kit comments, drawing my attention to where they are looking, I scoff at the girl and her arrogance "Gotta admire her persistence" Jade says "and her determination" I add "No, she's gonna get herself killed" Kit quickly complains to us before yelling out to the girl however she ignores us and keeps walking so we ride over to her.

"What did I say!?" Kit asks annoyed at the girl "You're not the boss of me princess, not out here" The girl fights back. "I like her, I think we should keep her" Boorman shared his opinion, "Nobody asked you Boorman" Kit yells "Shut up Boorman," The girl says at the same time. Jade and I both give each other a look and try not to laugh. "Enough! We don't have time for your bickering! Arik doesn't have time" Kase quickly puts a stop to the two's short argument "I don't care if you like each other, We're all in this together now. And out here, in the world beyond, if you're not vigilant at each moment, I swear you will not survive-" his lecture is cut short as he lets out a grunt of pain.

Sticking out of his stomach is an arrow that impaled him, I slightly gasp as he falls off his horse... dead. I can hear horses behind us, loud yelling and cheering as something grows near "Bone Reavers" Boorman comments, Instantly I freeze, my heart starts to beat faster and my breath quickens. Everyone else behind riding off to get away my only choice is to follow or die. As we ride away the yelling of the Bone Reavers doesn't get any quieter. The blond girl is now riding on Kit's horse with her which I bet Kit is just loving.

Arrows are flying in the air, I'm struggling to see where to go, to focus on the fact that I'm being chased by the same people that killed my family and yet I'm running away instead of fighting; though I know it's a fight I wouldn't win. A Bone Reaver rides up next to Boorman and the two of them from what it looked like shared a small conversation before Boorman hits them in the face and they fall back behind.

In the distance, though not too far, a body of water is spotted, no way around nor over, it's either we stop or go over the cliff and into the water. Boorman, who is ahead of everyone starts shouting out some words to the house, the rest of us yelling out to get him to stop.

"Boorman what are you doing stop!!!" I yell out to him, though all he does is continue to say the word 'Hsu-gala' whatever that means. And in a matter of seconds, Boorman and his horse have gone over and into the water, the rest of us don't know what to do however end up doing the same thing as him, the horses falling with us and you can hear their frustration.

As my body hit the cold water, my senses are once again heightened. I take a deep breath and watch the others fall down, all of us not pleased that we are now soaking wet but relieved the Bone Reavers have now left us alone. I just wish there was a better way to get away from them.
