I ride down the escalator hand in hand with Marcel and he grins at me with his small shades on. I play with his brown curls he is so adorable. He may not be Eli's but he looks more and more like him everyday. I see Eli carrying the many bags of stuff we bought in the mall.
"Oouu look daddy." Marcel said as he pointed at the Dinosaur in the display window.
"He's been a kid in a candy store all day." I spoke.
"I mean its his birthday, how do you expect 2 year olds to act." Eli replies.
Marcel then drags me by my pants leg into the the shoe store. I catch up with him and he points at a pair of shoes.
"We just bought you 7 pairs of shoes." I say.
"Dig shoes." He said looking at my shoes while still pointing.
I swoop him up in my arms and he giggles at me tickling him. "You want shoes like Dig?" I question him.
"Yeah." He said.
I couldn't believe he wanted to match me with a pair of shoes. Usually he clings to Eli but he is making our relationship stronger more now that Eli goes to work and Im a stay at home parent kinda. I pull Marcel's shoe size down out of the stacks of shoes and I head over to the register. I see Marcel standing next to me smiling while playing with his drawstrings on his shorts.
After we pay I turn and I see Eli standing waiting on us at the door. We walk to him and head back to the car to get ready for Marcel's house party tonight. We get out there and we walk to the car together smiling enjoying each other.
"Go stand with Diggy." Eli tells Marcel as he pulls out his phone.

I pick him up and I place him in his car seat. I give him his toy so he can entertain himself on the ride. I see Eli putting bags in the trunk and I help him. He smiles at me and places a kiss on my cheek.
"So you got decorations?" He said.
"Check." I reply. "You got the cake?"
"The catering party is bringing it with them." Eli responded.
"And everyone is coming right?" Eli asked.
