DIGGY

2 months later

JaMarrion unlocked the door to the house and we carried the rest of the groceries into the house. We talked and laughed about some things and we joked about our basketball 1 on 1 we played today. I crashed on the couch and I turned the TV on. JaMarrion came and sat next to me and put my feet in his lap. We have become so comfortable with each other and it still blows my mind how nervous I was when I first got here.

I felt a vibration from my pocket and I quickly jumped at the sensation. I looed at my phone and I noticed I was getting a call from Mrs. Erika.

"Hey Jay I gotta take this." I said.

"Go head, but when you done can you come back I need to talk to you bout sum." He requested.

"Ofcourse." I said as I answered the phone.

"Hello." I heard Erika's voice speak.

"Hi." I say as I step into my room.

"Hey Diggy, I wanted to call you to see how you're doing?" She asked. "How are you feeling."

"Im doing great, I feel amazing." I spoke in a joyous time.

"It feels good to hear you say that." Erika said.

"It feels good to say that. And its all thanks to you." I said.

"And because I have seen your major improvements everytime you come in my office. And I think you're ready." She spoke.

"Thank you, but what do you mean?" I asked.

"Well Diggy you have finally reached the end of my course. I think that we have worked well together and we have built a stronger Daniel than there has ever been, dont you think?" She asked.

"Well Ofcourse but-." I said as she cut me off.

"Diggy, it is time. I feel it I have seen you grow into someone who knows confidence and knows how to make better decisions. I think its time for you to go back home." Erika spoke.

"Are you sure?" I questioned.

"Im more than sure Diggy. You've got everything you need. The support of friends like JaMarrion and help from people like me. You can still call me if you ever need anything." She said.

"Well I have been starting to miss home lately." I replied.

"So I think that's a sign that you need to go." She said.

"But Im not sure if everything is gonna go smoothly when I go back." I responded.

"Diggy listen to me. What did I tell you to do when things aren't going smoothly?" She asked.

"You said to stick it out." I sighed.

"Exactly, you stuck it out when you first got here to Dubai. Its the same thing just stick it out. You'll find your comfort back home again." Erika explained.

"But Dubai is my home." I exclaimed.

"No Diggy, Dubai is your hiding place, this is the olace that has been holding you from every great thing that life has for you." She said.

"But Dubai is my place." I said laughing trying to justify my reason.

"But home is not a place Diggy, home is knowing where you actually belong it means knowing your freedom and your opportunity to have everything you want and need. Home is where you're free of oppression and where you're happy." She explained.

This teared me up and it made my heart remind me of the reason I came down here in the first place. I actually started to feel for my actual home again.
