Warnings - careless parent
"Come here Klaus!" Timothée demanded as I used my key to open the door.
"Oh thank God, Y/n," Timothée sighed. Klaus Chalamet had written my name, misspelled to be sure, but definitely my name, on his stomach.
"Sorry I'm late," I said sheepishly.
"No problem, I know traffic can be shit, ah sorry, I meant bad, around this time," Timothée corrected his language, looking worriedly at his son.
"Hey Klausy!" I said excitedly. Klaus ran to me, his dark curls still wet from his bath.
"I don't even know where he got that sharpie," Timothée said worriedly. He always seemed anxious around me, like he thought, I thought he was a bad dad. I thought the exact opposite. I was extremely impressed by him and the love he had for his son. My previous clients hadn't had half the care Timothée had for Klaus.
"Mr. Chalamet, trust me, kids will always find a way to get into things. I know how to get it off," I assured him as I tickled Klaus's chubby belly. Klaus giggled happily. Klaus had bonded with me day one. Timothée had been overjoyed at the connection we had.
"I keep telling you to call me Timothée," he chuckled.
"Okay, Klaus the Mouse," Timothée said affectionately. "Daddy is going to be back before you go to bed."
"Yay!" Klaus cheered.
"What scenes are you filming today?" I asked eagerly. I could never help asking about his career, it interested me greatly.
"Well we've got the big kissing scene today, I'm a bit nervous," he said, stuffing his hands in his pockets. I knew by the way he emphasized the word 'kissing' that it was a actually a sex scene, and he didn't want Klaus to hear the word.
For some reason, I felt at bit queasy at the announcement. It felt almost like I was jealous, but why would I be jealous?
"When will I see mommy?" Asked Klaus, and I watched Timothée wince. Timothée's hag of an ex didn't give a shit about Klaus. She had dumped Timothée pretty fast after Klaus's birth. Timothée had been a single father, easily winning full custody. For the sake of Klaus he still tried to get his ex to see the boy sometimes. I didn't hate many people in life, but I did hate her.
I'd been nannying Klaus since he was six months. He'd turned two in three weeks. I had been very honored to receive and invitation.
"I don't know buddy, but I'm really trying to get her to come to your party okay?"
"Yeah," Klaus nodded.
"You need to get out the door," I joked to Timothée. He gave me a grin. He kissed his son on the head and went out the door.
The day went well. Klaus was always good for me. His recent obsession was dinosaurs, so we had several dinosaur battles. He went down for his nap at 12.
I looked at my phone and was surprised to find a message from Timothée. Usually he only texted when he was anxious about Klaus. He had sent me a selfie of him making a terrified face, and said he was nervous for his part. I couldn't help but notice he was shirtless. I texted him back encouragement. Strangely, even after that, he continued to text back. We texted on and off all day. Klaus had to keep asking me why I was smiling so much. I told him, his daddy was funny.
When Timothée arrived at his home I had dinner on the table for him and Klaus. Klaus was grumpy because it was not Dino nuggets, his favorite, but instead, chicken and potatoes.
"Hey there," Timothée said brightly to his boy. He picked him up and kissed his rosy cheeks. Klaus was giggling.
I smiled at the scene. As Timothée asked Klaus about his day, I searched for my bag and keys?
