Genesis had her guards grab us. We were brought to her office. I was beyond scared. I didn't know what was happening.
"So, Timothée and y/n found their true match," she smirked.
"So we are matched?" I asked eagerly.
"Yes, of course, don't you have feelings like no other for one another?" She asked.
"Yes," Timothée said earnestly. I should've trusted him. I should've left well enough alone.
"You're truly matched for one another, and you're lucky, not everyone has a match," she smiled.
"So what is a Brute Match?" I asked.
"Around the same time that we found the love match gene, we found other genes that would match together to do other things. We found there was a way to match people to create the most hard working, least complaining, and best workers capitalism could ever dream of."
"So, it was an obvious choice," I growled.
"Of course," she smirked.
"So Theo and I would've produced good workers," I demanded.
"Yes, but you and Timothée share a bond that is undeniable," she smiled.
"Why are you telling us this?" I asked.
"Because you'll never make it out of here alive," she grinned. "We needed some new lab rats anyway."
"They haven't found me yet," came the low voice of Argyle. "In thirty seconds someone will ask to be let in the door. Use the distraction to crack the window. The drop won't kill you. I'm below with the getaway van.
The seconds passed like hours, then the knock and ring of the intercom. Timothée grabbed a chair and swung it at the window. He was cut up but we were soon getting through. I heard screaming and people crushing glass.
"Come on," Timothée pulled me from where I lay weak on the van. I'd hurt my ankle.
"My ankle," I wailed. He picked me up and jumped. He mumbled curses as he whipped open the van door. By this time guards had landed on the van and we heard shouted orders. We slammed the doors shut and Argyle sped off with us inside, knowing information that would change the world.
