Warnings - war, losing limbs, immense pain, losing powers, ripping out throats, burning people, calling someone whore, lots of blood
"Charge!" screamed Timothée's mother. The once statue like vampires came alive. Soon, witches who had been trying to tie up their armor, were having their throats ripped out. I watched Timothée turn into something I'd never seen. His eyes were red and his face had gone feral. I felt I was now truly seeing the Blood Star in action.
He jumped nearly fifteen feet and I watched as he moved like lightning from vampire to vampire, ripping them to shreds. Blood coated his mouth, and others were backing away from him in fear.
Seeing the person I loved becoming that fearsome monster did not disgust me as I thought it might. Instead, it encouraged me to become just as fearsome. I let flame slowly lick over my body. I was burning so hot that blue was laced into the red fire. I ran into the fray. Fire ball after fire ball was hurled at the cold, blood suckers. Soon I was near Timothée and we were creating a large dent in the vampire's troops. The Blood Star and the fire witch were a formidable duo.
I blasted out with my powers, creating a wall of flame. Vampires were being eviscerated, but it seemed we were still wildly outnumbered. Suddenly, I heard a snarl and an enormous pack of wolves had come over the hill. Now it was guaranteed we'd win.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the whore and the Blood Star," I heard a horrible voice snarl. I turned to see the terrible, but gorgeous form, of Timothée's mother. He had turned as well.
"Sirpa," he growled angrily.
"Son," she gave us a horrible grin.
I had read a lot of books, and something that always bother me was how people would stand around and talk, instead of attacking when they had their chance. That being said, before Sirpa could do anything else, I shot out a whip of fire.
Sirpa's powers deflected the fire before it got to her. I shot out more, not waiting to see if anything hit. However, she was gone. I felt claws on my neck and a deep bite. I screamed, but then the hormones began to kick in.
"Get off her," Timothée growled, and the teeth were painfully wrenched from my throat. I watched as he yanked her head back by her hair. She screamed, but then she was gone. She landed a hard punch to Timothée's gut when she reappeared. He flew back and I spit flames at her. They finally caught, and before she could use her powers, I sent more flame her way. Eventually, she got them off her but she looked weak as she stumbled. I saw Timothée appear next to her and wrap her long hair around his forearm. He yanked and she screamed. He bent down and bit out a huge chunk of her neck. She was choking on her own blood as she tried desperately to breathe. Timothée let her go, and I sent a tsunami of flame to consume her.
"You did great," Timothée said, pulling me into his arms. Though his mouth was covered in blood I pressed my lips to his, knowing he'd just lost his entire family.
"I love you," he said.
"I love you too," I responded.
The battle went pretty swiftly after that. The last of the vampires surrendered and went away to lick their wounds. There were much more casualties for the witches than the werewolves, they had truly turned the tide of the battle. Even though it was over, there was still the question of me. I didn't put it past the werewolves to want me just as much as the other two Houses.
"Celestina," I said, touching her remaining arm. She'd lost one in the war. "I don't want my powers, I want to be normal. This has all been pretty terrible. Isn't there any way I can get rid of them?"
"There is one way, but you'd have to be absolutely certain," she mused.
"I am, I don't want them. The only good thing about all this has been Timothée."
"You could give your powers away, but if I do it you have to transfer them to me," she explained.
"Like I said, I don't care. I want them gone," I said.
"You're absolutely sure about this?" Timothée asked.
"I just want to live life, and be with you. Isn't that what you want?" I asked him.
"Yes, but I don't want to feel like I pressured you," He said slowly.
"You're not, Timmy, let's just be normal together. Please," I begged.
"You mean other than the fact that I'm the living dead?" He quipped.
"Yes," I laughed. "Other than that."
"Okay, I'll be by your side whatever you choose."
Celestina took us to a secluded house. She brought along her husband Hiro to help her. Timothée came to be moral support for me.
"This will be wildly painful," Hiro explained.
"Would it help if I drank from her?" Timothée asked. "To dull the pain."
"What would actually help is if you secreted venom and rubbed it on her skin. That way you aren't weakening her by drinking. Timothée nodded, readying himself.
"Okay, I can do this," I breathed. Celestina and Hiro let light shine from their hands, the orbs merged together and shot towards me. White hot pain rippled through my body, and I screamed, until I felt Timothée's cold, slimy, hands. The pain cooled slightly as he rubbed my skin. It was like pulling a tooth. the pain would wane and flair as Hiro and Celestina worked.
Finally, they left me limp, and I fell back. Timothée gently lifted my head onto his lap, and ran his fingers through my hair.
"Let's see," Celestina said, and I watched her hand light up with fire. "Amazing."
"We're free to go?" Timothée asked.
"Yes," Hiro said, amazed by his wife's new power. Timothée picked me up bridal style.
"I mean no ill will with this Celestina," I said. "But I truly hope I never see you again."
Her laughter drifted away as Timothée brought us back on campus. For the next couple days he nursed me back to strength. He dropped out of college and we bought a small house off campus while I finished school.
Other than the fact that he could transport himself wherever he wanted, our life was pretty normal. With his crazy family gone, no one was hunting him down. We stayed madly in love with each other, even if I did sometimes bring up the fact he was supposed to kill me to bother him.
