Info - admitting to liking friend, time jump, worried child

Timothée's POV

"Daddy," Sloan asked, climbing up on my lap.

"Yes sweetness?" I asked her. Y/n and I had gotten married the year she'd graduated college. Both of us kept in some contact with our old friends, but we had a lot more now. We were actually a pretty popular couple, hosting a lot of parties and having a wonderful time entertaining people like we'd never gotten to do as teens.

I'd gotten several roles in theater and I was very happy with how my career was going. Y/n worked from home as an online tutor so she could also be with the kids. Sloan was the oldest at eight, then there was James who was six, and y/n was coming in the living room right now with little year and a half old Cara, and she was pregnant as well.

"I like a boy at school, but I don't think he likes me," she said worriedly.

"Aren't you a little young to be concerned with that Sloan?" My wife asked her and I chuckled.

"What boy wouldn't like you?"I asked and tickled her. She laughed, but then grew solemn again.

"I just get worried, boys like all my other friends," she pouted.

"Give it some time, that's exactly how I was, no boys liked me over my friends," y/n said and winked at me.

"Except for daddy of course," Sloan said confidently.

"Welllll...," y/n trailed off with a smile and lifted her shirt so she could breastfeed Cara.

"Daddy!" Sloan gasped. "You loved her right away didn't you!"

"No, she snuck up on me," I said and smiled fondly at my wife. "I liked aunt Bryanna first."

"No!" Sloan said as if she were watching a television drama.

"But trust me baby, when I finally realized, oh my goodness I was smitten. You know what that word means don't you?"

"Yeah," she said with sparkling eyes.

"I would get butterflies when she played with her hair, when she smiled at me I felt like I could faint, and anytime she touched me I felt wild. Once I fell, I fell hard and never thought of another girl."

"How did you meet?"

"I met your mother trying to flirt with Aunt Bryanna at a party," I said ashamedly.

"That's how you met mommy?" She asked in shock.

"Absolutely," y/n said.

"I'm worried now that you're going to leave us for aunt Bryanna," Sloan said cautiously.

"Sweetheart, that will never ever happen. I don't think of anyone like I think of mommy. I love her with my whole heart."

This seemed to satisfy her and she settled on my lap.

"And I love daddy like crazy," she smiled and my heart still fluttered.

"She was a plot twist, but the best one ever."
