I rested my foot on my desk, carefully painting each toenail a bright shade of cherry red to match my fingernails I painted earlier. My legs were soft and smooth to the touch, along with the rest of my body after a vigorous shaving session in the shower.
I tighten my bath robe as I stand up to grab my makeup, being extra cautious not to smudge the wet polish on my toes. I apply a smokey grey shadow around my eyes, topped off with silver glitter and a sharp wing, defining my large green eyes. I pulled out a red lipstick. I bought it a few years ago, but never had a reason to wear it. Tonight seemed like the perfect opportunity. I glide the sultry ruby-red shade across my lips, pouting in the mirror as I do so.
I slip into the mini dress, smoothing it out along my body. It fits like a glove. The satin clings to my curves, accentuating my hourglass figure. I cross the delicate rhinestone straps across my neck. I love the way the small stones glisten against my skin. As I sit on the edge of the bed I begin to lace up my heels, tightly wrapping them around my calves. I stand up to shake my freshly curled hair, letting the bouncy curls cascade over my shoulders.
I almost didn't recognise the girl in the reflection. Or should I say, the woman in the reflection. For the first time in my life I felt sexy. I felt confident.
I couldn't wait for Richard to see me."Woah." I heard my sister say behind me as she stood in the doorway.
"Am I Olive approved?" I smile at her through the reflection of the mirror.
"Oh, most defin-"
Olive was cut off by three loud car horns from the street outside the apartment. I ran to my window to peep through the curtains, noticing Richard's Cadillac parked up on the curb.
"He's here." I grin ear to ear.
My heart race quickened and a knot formed in my stomach as I sprayed three quick squirts of vanilla perfume on my neck and behind my ears.
"Bye, I love you." I quickly blow a kiss to Olive before I dash down the hall, the sound of my heels clattering against the floor.
"Have fun!" She yells back giddily.
I open the apartment door and make my way down the stairs to the ground floor, trying my hardest not to trip up over my five-inch heels.
As I approach the vehicle, I see Richard open up the driver's side door and step out while puffing on a cigarette. He looked phenomenal. As usual.
An oversized leather biker jacket draped loosely over his shoulders with a white shirt peeking through the front, paired with his classic black jeans and sneakers combo. As I came closer, I could just make out a small silver pentagram chain hung around his neck.
Richard's eyes widened in awe as he saw me come down the steps towards his car. He looked starstruck, nothing but astonishment plastered across his face. His gaze scanned my body up and down, over and over again as his jaw dropped open. I catch his eyes drifting down my body until he stares at my feet. He ever so slightly bites his lower lip with a quick smile, before his eyes shoot back up to meet mine.
"Willow. You look-" He spoke breathlessly, shaking his head while his eyes were still glued to my body.
"Fuck. You look incredible.""Thank you." I whisper, blushing shyly.
"Look at you." He said, taking my hand in his and raising his arm up to twirl me around, as if he were showing me off. I couldn't help but think that this is the exact reaction I wanted. He made me feel seen. Feel beautiful.
"Stop." I giggle playfully while placing my palm on his chest to push him away gently. "You don't look too bad yourself."
He smiles at me sweetly.
