"Look who's learnt how to tie her shoes." a raspy voice spoke from behind me as I folded the hotel sheets. I knew who it was immediately.

I couldn't help but smile down at the laundry in my hands before spinning around, revealing Richard, his arms crossed against his chest with one shoulder leant casually against the doorframe as he glared deeply into my eyes, his mouth curled up into a smirk.

"I'm not stalking you, I swear." I replied, mirroring his smirk and body language as I rested my hands on the table behind my back.

I might be acting cool and confident, but inside I am dying of embarrassment - Fuck, he remembers me from the other night. What are the chances? The guy I pissed off in a cemetery turns out to be my new work colleague.

Richard let out a slight chuckle as he shook his head at the ground, stepping out from the doorway to approach me. He was wearing all black. A Led Zeppelin shirt paired with an oversized leather jacket and jeans. He looks incredible. His long curls strew over his forehead, with his dark eyes peeking through at me. His complexion is warmer than gold, the kind that was the best of friends with the sun, looking good in any light - even in this shitty basement.

"I think you owe me a Pepsi. You can buy me one later." He joked as he came closer, tilting his head to study my face.

My neck slightly strained as I looked up at him. I forgot just how tall he is.

"And what if I don't? Gonna push me again?" I teased back, glaring right back at him. I have no idea where this bravery came from, but his cocky attitude made it so fun to tease.

Richard chewed the inside of his mouth, clearly trying to hold back a smile.

He slowly began to walk around me, before shoving one of my arms I had behind me with his hand. Since I was propping myself up on the table, I slightly fell to one side as I lost the support. I heard a boyish giggle from Richard as he walked round to the opposite side of the table.

"You fucker!" I shouted between laughs, turning around and throwing one of the sheets at him.
The awkward tension between us had faded. Richard really seems like someone I could get along with, he seemed fun. Yeah a dick, but still fun.

"You asked for it." He spoke through a devilish grin.
"So. Antonio's got you down here, huh?" He added, picking up one of the sheets before tossing it back down.

"Yeah. Fun right?" I chuckled sarcastically.

"Mmm don't worry, it won't take you long." Richard said, trailing his slender fingers along the edge of the table.

"You're not helping?" I ask curiously. I was hoping he'd stay down here with me to keep me company.

"No I- I got um- shit to do upstairs." He sighed, breaking our eye contact to stare down at his hands to pick at his nails.

"Oh. Okay. What you gotta do?" I question him, raising a brow at his sudden awkwardness. Whatever he's doing up there, he clearly doesn't want me to know about it.

"It's just, you know, cleaning rooms. Nothing exciting." He responded quickly, almost monotone.
"How bout' you meet me up at the lobby later and I can show you around a little more? After you've finished these?" Richard queried, gesturing toward my workload.

"Hm fine. I'll meet you in an hour." I insisted, still intrigued about what he was up to, but I didn't wanna pry. It wasn't my place. I'm just the new girl, and he obviously knew more about the job than I did.

"See you later then...Willow." He spoke smoothly, with extra emphasis on my name.

His gaze trailed slowly up my body, landing on my neck and then my lips for a brief moment before making his way back to my eyes.

I swallowed, feeling a familiar tightness gripping my throat. My heart skipped a beat. I almost melted right there and then.

Fuck. Why did he have this effect on me?
I've never had a boy speak to me like this, or even look at me the way Richard does. He must be like this with every girl.

Richard's long legs then carried him towards the door, ever so swiftly. I heard his black sneakers climb the stairs as he left.

"Yeah. See you later." I grinned, continuing my work, still smiling down at my hands even though he's now long gone.
