“Really? You think so? I wasn’t so sure.” Her eyebrows pulled together,
and all I wanted was to go and push them back apart, to stop her from feeling
worried.
Her dark eyes glistened and I couldn’t believe how she had managed to
pull this off. Her hair was pulled back in some kind of braid thing that only a girl
could possibly understand. The dress she was wearing was absolutely amazing.
It cut off around her knees and the detailing at the bottom that I normally wouldn’t
have noticed only made it better.
Listen to me. Going all girly about Kyree.
“I’m sure. You’re perfect.”
A hint of a smile tugged on her lips. “You don’t look so bad yourself.”
“Ready to go?”
“As ever.” She grabbed her handbag off the table and said goodbye to
Elle, muttering under her breath afterwards to not get too drunk. I gave her a
questioning look but she only shook her head. When she smiled slightly, I wasstruck again by how well she looked. Nothing like the sickly girl I’d seen in the
ocean.
“Truly, Kyree, you look amazing tonight.”
“Thanks…but call me Ree.”
