CHAPTER TWELVE LUCIUS MALFOY
Emery walked into Flourish and Blotts and met up with Harry, Hermione and the Weasley family
"Mum fancies him." Ron told Harry referring to Gilderoy Lockhart
"It can't be." Lockhart spoke his eyes trained on Harry "Harry Potter?" A camera man gasped and pulled Harry out of the crowd and pushed him towards Lockhart "nice big smile, Harry. Together, you and I rate the front page. Ladies and Gentlemen, what an extraordinary moment this is. When young Harry stepped into Flourish and Blotts this morning to purchase my autobiography, Magical Me..." The crowd applauded as Lockhart smiled brightly "which, incidentally is currently celebrating its 27th week atop the Daily Prophet bestseller list, he had no idea that he would in fact be leaving...with my entire collected works...free of charge." Lockhart handed Harry a stack of books, Harry walked over to Mrs. Weasley
"Harry, you give me those and I'll get them signed." Molly took the books from Harry and walked towards Lockhart "all of you, wait outside." The group walked towards the door but Draco stepped in front of them
"Best you loved that, didn't you, Potter?" Draco said bitterly "famous Harry Potter, can't even go into a bookshop without making the front page."
"Leave him alone." Ginny said sternly as she stepped in front of Harry
"At least he can actually get a girlfriend." Emery said rudely crossing her arms, Draco stepped forward and glared at her, their faces inches apart.
"Now, now, Draco, play nicely." Lucius Malfoy grabbed his sons shoulder and pulled him away from Emery before directing his attention towards Harry "Mr. Potter. Lucius Malfoy." Lucius introduced himself "we meet at last. Forgive me." Lucius pulled Harry close and examined his lightening bolt scar "your scar is legend, as, of course, is the wizard who gave it to you."
"Voldemort killed my parents." Harry stated before pulling away from Lucius "he was nothing more than a murderer."
"You must be very brave to mention his name, or very foolish." Lucius replied slowly
"Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself." Hermione chimed in
"And you must be Miss Granger. Yes. Draco's told me all about you and your parents. Muggles, aren't they?" Hermione glared at Lucius "let me see. Red hair, vacant expressions...tatty secondhand book...you must be the Weasleys."
"Now I know where Draco gets his attitude from." Emery spoke, Lucius turned towards her
"Miss Laurier, is it?" Lucius turned towards Draco who nodded "I've heard so much about you..." Lucius leaned down towards Emery and whispered, "you can't keep your family hidden forever, everyone's gonna find out eventually.." Emery's breath hitched as Lucius stood up straight
"Children, it's mad in here. Let's go outside." Arthur Weasley chimed in
"Well, if it isn't, Weasley senior." Arthur turned towards Lucius
"Lucius." Arthur sighed
"Busy time at the Ministry, Arthur, all those extra raids? I do hope they're paying you overtime, but judging by the state of this, I'd say not." Lucius placed a book inside Ron's cauldron "what's the use of being a disgrace to the name of wizard if they don't even pay you well for it?"
"We have a very different idea about what disgraces the name of wizard, Malfoy." Arthur replied
"Clearly. Associating with muggles...and I thought your family could sink no lower. I'll see you at work." Lucius turned and walked the opposite direction, Draco stepped in front of Emery and Harry and glared at them
