They began as simple creatures, changing into what we know today as dragons. Over the many years they had thrived on a simple moon. Within a generation, they had moved from their star system to where the humans lived. Earth.
Nobody knows why the dragons were sent to Earth, but they learned to adapt to the environment. The dragons soon learned to look, act and breed like humans. They began breeding with the humans and with this happening, human and dragon babies were being born from humans. The dragons had the ability to look human with training, should the secret get out of the dragon parent to their desired mate. The hybrid human babies, however, were sometimes born with a gene.
The gene allowed humans to turn into dragons and back again like they possessed the magic to do so. However, the gene could only be in anybody with a human and dragon parent. The only way to know for sure if a child has the gene is through tests done by a doctor who is an expert on the dragons. Only a few know the true secret of the dragons and help those who are new at the experience.
One family, however, would have an experience that no new dragon would ever experience.
