the brunette put her hair up in a ponytail and slid the welding helmet over her face.

being before breakfast is served, bunker 9 was empty. it was a weird sight though, as the workplace had been filled with hephaestus kids ever since leo told them about it. there'd also be other demigod children, such as ares kids or athena kids.

haniya was too focused on not having the sparks flying burn her clothes off to notice a certain white and blue haired character, leaning onto the rail of the runway. well, it's not like she would have noticed her anyway.

rai sort of considered haniya as an amazing role model. she could never be so dedicated to one hobby as she was. day and night, night and day, this girl's most frequent hangout spot was either the bunker or the workshop at the hephaestus cabins.

if she wasn't working on the argo II alongside leo valdez, she was trying to figure out how to make cellphones for demigods, with mateo cruz occasionally pitching in with new ideas.

         speaking of the devil...s...

"thank the gods you're here." mateo spoke up as he followed leo into the bunker. "i thought you were taken this time." in the morning, he has a bit of free time before having to teach the ancient greek class alongside his sister.

yeah, this reminds rai. the past couple of weeks, several demigods have gone missing, so everyone's on edge every morning, going to check on their friends. per usual, nobody checks on her, leaving her in the lonely cabin number twenty-one.

"you should start coming to breakfast more often." leo remarks, seemingly scolding his older half-sister.

"can't." is all she replied back to him. "the argo has to be perfect. if it's going to travel over the atlantic with seven demigods in tow, it has to be an absolute masterpiece of a trireme."

"and you say i'm too focused on this." leo rolled his eyes, making a playful remark towards mateo. he looked up, noticing the familiar face. "hi, rai!" he waved to the girl.

rai looked the tiniest bit taken aback, but she waved back in the end.

"rai?" mateo wondered who this 'rai' person was, when he also noticed the girl dozens of feet above them. "hmm..."

mateo took their usual place at the blueprints table, inspecting every single detail, while leo got ready to join haniya in her work. rai was still looking at all of them, especially leo.

he's one of, if not the first person to recognize her properly or remember her. she wondered if the curse was slowly dissipating...

no, that was too optimistic. maybe he just had an amazing memory. but mateo is one of the people around camp that remembers every tiny little detail about the campers, and he took a couple of seconds to recognize her.
