"Holy shit I did it, Lili." My phone was stood up against the books on my desk organized by size and then alphabetical order. Lisa's face was on my screen since she was working on some poster for her dance team. A glue bottle was in view as well as a shit ton of glitter bottles with colors that didn't complement each other but I trusted the girl to have some creative flow going through her head.
My laptop was on my laptop stand and my small Bluetooth keyboard was in front of me. The document that made up my now finished essay stood still with the blue bar blinking at me, the moment talking weights and pianos off my shoulder.
"I'm done with my essay!" I jumped up from my chair with my arms stretched like I was embracing whatever god watched upon us.
"And your other project?" Oh shit. I totally forgot she had made this into two projects and it's not like she didn't give us enough time to do both but I only finished my essay.
If I do badly it's over for me but if I do really well then I'll be on the edge of just passing and at this point that's all that matters. These were due tomorrow and I hoped that I'd at least be able to turn in a very well-written essay.
"I'll be alright I think," I reassured her not doubting my writing skills since I always did well in English class.
Lisa gave me a thumbs up and nodded, "I'm sure you'll be good. Oh by the way are you coming to dance practice tomorrow?"
"Wouldn't miss it for the world Lili. I'm proud to say I may have practiced in the bathroom a couple of times and I think I got everything down. Probably better than you." I shrugged teasing the girl.
"You're cocky for a girl who couldn't get the first move down. My 8-year-olds did better than you on their first try than you in your 5th." Burn. She slid the neon green poster from her desk and scooted away so that I could get a full view of her poster. All I could do was smile and nod.
"Looks awesome."
"You hate it. When you do like something you insult it first." Guilty your honor. She groaned and ruffled her bangs harshly, a bit of her forehead revealed and it felt like the first time you open your curtains on a bright early morning.
"Ok, maybe it's a bit bad but it'll for sure get everyone's attention which is what you're going for so mission accomplished and successful." I saluted the girl.

Back to square one.
When Roseanne had said that she wanted to see where things went I didn't think we'd be back to square one.
We hadn't talked since and this time I wasn't the one who was going to apologize or confess, which is why we haven't talked.
It hadn't been that long since our argument but I was miserable. I missed the girl and the way her skin felt under my touch, how her lips felt on mine and her hair covered my face when we cuddled.
I rolled my eyes at the thought and picked up my phone. I tapped on our chat and handed stared at the empty message bar waiting for me to put it to use. And I did. Shamelessly.
"Finished my essay, just wanted to let you know." And I'm sure she didn't care. We've written millions of essays and we have never shared said information before, perhaps I was just hoping I'd get a small interaction out of her. I felt like I was buried under sand in a desert.
I swiveled around with my toes that were exposed from me being barefoot. I leaned back and puffed up my cheeks to release a good amount of air.
A soft knock was heard on my door making me stop in that direction, the room still turning.
"Come in!" I notified the other person behind the door.
The figure surprised me. She stood on the doorway leaning against it not even entering my room. Her eyes were pointing at the floor, her fabric-covered arms crossed against her chest and a light sniff was released from her nose.
"We need to talk." She said and then our eyes met.
