Hidden scars

Chapter 4

I've been in bed for awhile, trying to get some more sleep when my alarm goes off, forcing me to get out of bed and get ready for the day.

By the time I've finished getting ready it's 7:42. I go downstairs and make some breakfast. Putting the left over Mac and cheese in my bag for lunch.

Once I've finished eating my breakfast and getting all the stuff ready for work it's 8:39. I grab all the medicine from the top cabinet and go upstairs. I go into Poppys room and put her medicine on the side table in a plastic bag. I go into Falls room to find him awake on his phone. I take off his eyepatch carefully, giving him his eye drops before leaving the room. Next is Mays' room, I pop her medicine on her side table, next to her brace, quietly as not to wake her up. Moons room is next, I go in to see him tossing and turning in his bed, "Moon, wake up please, I have to take off your brace," I say before gently shaking him. He groans, sitting up, still half asleep. I lift up his t-shirt slowly undoing the brace. I take off the brace and put his t-shirt back down. He flops back into bed, pulling up the covers. "I'll be leaving at 9 for work, call me if you need me," I say before leaving. I go into Suns room, she's still asleep, I put her medicine on her side table before going out of her room and back down the stairs into the kitchen.

I look at the clock, 9:07. I quickly scribble down on a piece of paper that I'm at work, and to call me if anyone needs anything. I stick it onto the fridge with a magnet. I grab my bag , going out the door I shout "I'm going to work now!" Before leaving. I get google maps up on my phone before starting the 15 minute walk to the school, my new workplace.

It's 9:26 when I get to work, I go through the corridors until I see a sign that says office. I go up to the desk, "hi, I'm Sage, I'm supposed to be starting today," I say to the old lady at the reception desk. "Oh , yep, right on time. I'm Daisy, the one who you spoke on the phone with," I nod my head in response, " well I guess I should show you around then," she says.

" And this is the last stop in our tour," says daisy, " this is your office, the place where you will be based. I'll leave you to sort out the room and figure out the website, I'm just round the corner if you need me," I nod in response quickly saying "thank you," before she disappears.

"I guess this is my office then," I say to myself. The room has a white couch leant up against the wall, a greyish blueish bean bag is leant up against the opposite wall from the couch. A wooden desk is in the middle, towards the back of the room, on the desk sits a monitor and keyboard. The rest of the room is bare.

I sit down on the wheely chair, I don't know their proper name, looking at the computer a little sticky note with my password and username is stuck onto the desk. I enter those into the computer, once it has loaded me in it comes up with a doc with instructions on what I'm expected to do and my budget for the room.

Yay! I can make this room much better with a little decorating. I get to work ordering some stuff for the room, some sticky notes, a small rubbish bin, some pillows for the couch and a little pot plant for my desk.

Going back to my work I start originating everything on my computer so I can find it easily.

Just as I finish putting my lunch back in my bag, someone knocks on the door " come in," I call out, Daisy opens the door, coming into the room. " So, what days do you want to work?"
" I'll probably just do the school week, like 5 days, Monday to Friday,"
" ok, I'll go and put that into the computer," she starts leaving before she stops," oh, and you'll be having some students come in this afternoon," before I can say anything she shuts the door, leaving my office.
