Chapter Sixteen

(Rosalie)

I was lying in our bed when the door flies open. I jump and sit up. Fredo screams and throws Oreos everywhere.

"Fredo!" I shout.

"Hey, Rosalie," he says, smiling at me. "I was here to tell you something. Justin is gonna be late tonight so dinner is on it's way."

I nod and curl up in the covers. I snuggle deeper into the bed, closing my eyes. I feel my muscles relax and my mind drifts off into the dream realm.

I was walking down an isle with everyone I loved on the sides. I smile out of the confusion, but no one smiles back. I notice everyone is dressed in black. Just black. I looked down at myself and see a black dress and shoes on me. I was holding a bouquet of flowers. I walk up the isle to see a coffin with it's lid open.

I hesitantly look inside and gasp, covering my mouth. Inside the coffin, in a suit and tie, lied Justin. He was ghostly white and his eyes were closed. I touched his hand, tears slipping down my face. It was cold as ice.

"No." The word sounded choked and broken as it whispered through my lips. "This can't be."

A hand on my shoulder made me look away. Pattie gave me a weak and sad smile, turning me away from him.

"I know it hurts. It will be alright," she says, trying to reassure me.

"No! It will never be alright! He was everything to me!" I bolt from the room.

I jerk awake from the dream, my face slick with sweat and tears. I wiped my cheeks and begin to cry.

"Hey, Rose! I'm home."

Justin walks into the room and I throw myself into his arms. He is caught off guard but recovers enough to catch himself and me. I cry into his shoulder as he rubs my back.

"Hey, hey, hey," he says. "What's wrong?"

"I can't live without you," I sob.

"Did you miss me that much?" He chuckles.

"I can't be without you." I shake my head and hold him tighter.

He pulls me off and sets me on the bed. He sits beside me and touches my arm.

"What's happened, Rosalie?" he asks, looking at me with worried eyes.

"I had a horrible nightmare. I was walking and everyone was in black. I knew something was really bad. I walked up and you were in a coffin. You were cold and pale," I admit. "I can't live without you, Justin. Please don't ever leave me. Ever, ever, ever."

He holds me, rocking me from side to side. He kisses the top of my head.

"It was just a dream. It wasn't real, baby. You don't have to ever worry about that." He kisses my head again and continues to rock me. "I'm never going to leave you. You don't have to worry about that."

"It was so horrible," I sob.

"I know, baby. I know," he whispers. "It was only a dream. It will never happen. I'd never leave you."
