Without Your Name

You sat in the hotel room, your bed across from Miles'.

"Meant nothing?" You question aloud. "Do I really mean nothing to you, Miles?"

"I never said that," He sighed, resting his head in his hands. "I simply made her leave us alone. Isn't that what you wanted?"

"No! Well- I guess? I don't know what I wanted, but not that!" Now it's your turn to hold your head in your hands. "Miles you know how Phoenix is, he's going to think you're lying about the meaning nothing thing. And also knowing him he's going to pester us to get what he thinks is the truth!"

"Nonsense, he knows it's the truth."

"No, he doesn't! He thinks he's right all the time. This," You reference the room "this shit is gonna make him think he's even more right."

"Well, it's either we sleep in the same room to keep up the charade to the bride, or sleep in separate rooms to appease the groom."

You groan, rolling your eyes "Or, neither! We come clean and don't have to make anyone happy."

"You say that like I lied to Phoenix"

"You didn't lie to Phoenix, but you lied to Chelsea. I can't deal with this. I'll be back." You stand, going to the door.

"Where are you going?"

"To come clean to Chelsea."

Just then, there's a knock on the door. You and Miles share looks of confusion. Neither of you ordered room service. You hesitantly open the door, to see none other than Chelsea sobbing.

"Oh, it's you." She looks at you, masking a look of disgust. "Where's Miles? I need to tell him about what you did to my husband."

"I'm here." He stands from the desk, confused. He leans on the doorframe next to you. "What do you need?"

"So... Y/N here has something they haven't been telling you..." She wipes her eyes on her oversized button down, most likely belonging to Phoenix. "They've been cheating on you... with Phoenix."

You and Miles share a look of confusion, both holding back laughter. "Oh, really now? How did you find out?" Miles tests how far she'll go.

"Phoenix told me... about 5 minutes ago... I knew I had to tell you.."

You couldn't contain your laughter at this point. You're folding over, grabbing the wall with tears in your eyes. This causes Miles to break, albeit not as dramatic as you, but still pretty bad.

"What's so funny?" She crosses her arms, stopping the waterworks.

"Look, Chels, can I call you that? I'm gonna call you that." You wipe your eyes "Phoenix is my cousin. You couldn't pay me millions to even hold his hand, let alone have an affair."

She had a look of horror in her eyes. "But- But I thought you-"

"Buh-buh-buh-" you mocked "besides," you pull Miles in by his waist "Miles and I are quite happy together."

You and Miles sat in a comfortable silence for a while until he broke it.

"What made you change your mind?" He asked, an amused smile on his face.

"She's trying to hurt my cousin. I cant have that."

"So it's not because you like me?" He raised a brow, leaning in a bit closer.

"Ugh what are we? Ten? No, Miles, I don't have feelings for you."

"So, you would be against taking my name?"

You scoffed, pushing his face away. "Please, I deal with enough without your name. I'd rather not have the Von Karma's have another reason to hate me."
