I am sooo sorry for not updating for almost two weeks. Aside from extreme studying and moving, I also had a really bad case of mental block lmao BUT we're doing great now, soooo here's an update!!!

Did I seriously just tell Hailey all of... that?

That realization hit me like a ton of bricks as soon as I had closed the front door, and I was alone inside my empty apartment again.

Okay, yes. I was cool with being upgraded to being 'frienemies' with Hailey, but why the hell did this feel so weird.

I honestly didn't know what came over me when I offered to go with her to that Korean Barbecue across the street. I wasn't even that hungry and I literally had just gotten to bed after me, Casey and River spent the whole morning cleaning the place up, and given that sleep was important to me, I would've rather spent the whole day sleeping than getting up to eat somewhere that involved having to put some clothes on and leaving the apartment.

But no.

Somehow, seeing Hailey's face fall when she realized that she had to eat alone awoke the soft spot I had for her. The soft spot I used to have for her, anyways.

And I was so deep in my thoughts that I didn't even realize that I had already sat down the couch.

Feeling too frustrated as to what was going on, I rubbed my face to hopefully wake me up.

And as soon as I did that, the front door opened, revealing Casey holding a paper bag of what I'm assuming is take out food from somewhere I probably would've liked more than that frickin' barbecue place.

Not that I didn't like the food, but knowing Casey, she most likely got me something I would've extremely liked to make up for keeping me up all morning to clean up the mess from the party she wanted to have.

"I thought you were gonna spend the day sleeping" Casey said as she dropped the paper bag on the countertop and began taking the food out of it. I sighed.

"The annoying... thing you call best friend woke me up looking for you" I told Casey. Great. I can't even call Hailey a bitch anymore.

Casey, however, looked at me shocked before she took her phone out, only to see the plenty texts Hailey sent her, I'm assuming.

"Shit" Casey muttered before she groaned in frustration "I forgot to charge my phone when River and I left. My phone's been dead the whole time"

As soon as the words left her mouth, I looked at her in disbelief.

Casey was the type who was always attached to her phone. She was on it 24/7, and I wouldn't even be surprised if I find out that she's still using it in her sleep.

So her telling me that she forgot to charge her phone and didn't even notice that it has been dead the whole time was just very... unusual.

Huh. Maybe things with River are going too well for her to not even bother peeping at her phone while she's with him.

Unless...

"Did you seriously just ditch your best friend for a guy?" I asked Casey, who suddenly froze on her spot before she slowly looked up at me.

"I would never do that!" Casey said in a slightly defensive tone. Which meant that it was true.

So I looked at her with my eyebrow cocked up and crossed my arms

"You just did, Casey" I told her sternly, making her avoid eye contact as she slammed one of the takeout containers on the countertop jokingly

"I mean I didn't know she wanted to get korean barbecue with me" Casey said as she looked away "I have stuff going on"
