It's dark now. Abe enters the building first, gun raised.
"Let's go." He says.
The rest follow behind, weapons at the ready. They're in a library. They sweep the place. Empty.
Tara gathers water from the toilet bases. Gross, but at least its water.
Rosita and Y/N tape over the front windows, covering them with anything they can.
Glenn moves bookshelves in front of the doors. Eugene makes a small fire in a trash can, adding torn book pages as the kindle. Coat hangers rest over it, as they boil the toilet water.
Rosita breaks apart the spine of a book, using the thread and a needle to stitch up Y/N's thigh and Abrahams hand, which got cut open during the crash.
Y/N is now looking out a tinted window, where a few stray walkers pass, when Abe walks up.
"Hey."
She glances at him. "Hey."
"Thank you."
She chuckles slightly. "For what?"
"Showing up. It took a little horse trading to get you here, but it's plain as potatoes to me now. You get it. Coulda lit out after the crash, made a case, but you stayed."
"We made a deal."
"Yeah, you coulda broke it. What was I gonna do?"
She looks out the window again. "Why'd you want me and Glenn to come with?"
He shrugs. "You're strong. Stronger than most. I saw it the moment you walked up to our car, holding a sword in one hand and a baby in the other. We need badasses like you if we wanna live."
She smiles at that. "You should get some sleep."
"I need me some ass first."
He turns to find Rosita and she scrunches her face. "I so did not need to know that."
He chuckles as he walks further into the silent library.

Moaning echoes in the room. Y/N tries to ignore it as she searches for Eugene. She comes across him in the self-help section. She glances at what he's looking at and gasps, pulling his arm, dragging him away from that shelf.
She huffs and rubs her eyes. "Dude, what are you doing?"
His face remains stoic. "Cards on the table, I was watching them."
She fights the urge to laugh. "Yeah, I saw that."
"I believe they know I catch an eyeful on occasion, which isn't to say it's their thing. It's not mine either. It's just that I enjoy the female form and I consider this a victimless crime that provides both comfort and distraction."
She shakes her head in disbelief, with the smallest hint of a smile on her face. "I just wanted to thank you for having my back on the bus."
"Don't know about that."
She looks at him. "You did. You could've just stood there. You helped me, so thank you."
He shakes his head. "I was screwed either way, so I went with the choice that helped someone. I thought it trite, but it turned out to be true. Point to you."
She furrows her brow. "What?"
"The bus crashed cause of me." He mumbles.
"No, it didn't."
"Yes it did. I put crushed glass in the fuel line. Light bulbs I found in the church. The vehicle should've failed before it ever got to the road."
Her face drops. Her stomach lurches. She thinks about her future baby. Her and Glenn's future baby.
She takes a small step backward. "You would've killed us." She whispers.
"It wasn't supposed to go down like that, not hardly, not half. The glass wasn't supposed to wear out the fuel line next to the spark plugs. We fully pulled the short straw on that one." He says.
She shakes her head. "Why would you do that? Why the hell would you do that? Eugene."
This time he doesn't say anything. She glances around and then looks back at him. "Answer me."
"I appreciate the positive affirmations and looking the other way on the perversion, but I know empirically and definitively I cannot survive on my own. I cannot."
"So you killed the bus?" She's not understanding why he would do something like that.
"If I don't cure the disease, if I don't save the world, I have no value. If I don't fix things, there's no way you people would keep me around, share resources, even protect me."
She huffs. "Of course we would. Like it or not, you're one of us now. We have each others backs. That's how it works. You're stuck with us just like we're stuck with you."
He sighs, realizing his mistake.
She bites her inner cheek as she thinks. "Don't tell anyone else. I'll keep your secret. You know you messed up. Just... don't do something like that again."
He nods quickly. "I won't."

Y/N is laying down next to Glenn. His arm is wrapped protectively around her waist. He doesn't know yet. She stares at the ceiling.
He sits up. "You thinking about them?"
She nods. "Yeah. I feel guilty. Leaving them. Daryl... Michonne. Judith. All of them."
He sighs. "I know. But we're living for something else now. And, we get to have little vacations on bookstore floors."
She smiles. She hums to herself as she debates something.
She winces as she sits up to look at him. "It just feels good. Having this. Knowing we are gonna do something."
She rests her hand on her stomach. "Something for this."
He stares at her a moment before looking down at her hand. He looks back up with a shocked expression. He doesn't speak. He opens his mouth but shuts it immediately.
She grabs his hand, interlocking their fingers. "I'm pregnant. We're gonna have a baby."
Tears well in his eyes and he wraps her in a hug. "Oh my god." He whispers.
He pulls back and she leans her head against his. "I thought it was a curse. I thought I would end up like Lori. Why bring a child into this world just to live a painful life? But then we discovered this. Saving the world from apocalypse. And yeah, it might not go back to exactly the way it was, but it'll be better than now. This baby can have a life. We can give it a life."
He hugs her again. "I'm gonna be a dad."
She smiles against him. "You are."
