Oakley was frantically driving towards her destination near a hospital carefully and quickly finding shortcuts and cutting corners while barely going over the speed limit. Luckily, no cops had come to pull her over to call her out on it and hand her a ticket yet. So she continued onwards and eventually reached her destination the time being 9:15 from when she woke up at 8. Only 10 minutes late to her job because of it.
Unfortunately, 10 minutes late is still late and a smiling, shorter than your average female adult, East Asian girl who was standing patiently in front of the quaint coffee shop. When she saw Oakley come out of her car, her smile twitched under har COVID mask with slight irritation, she then looked at somewhere in the sky in confusion for a second before noticing that Oakley was infront of her and returning her attention towards her.
"オークリー〜 今日は自分で開店するって言ってたのに、なんで遅く出勤したの?~"(Oakley~ You said you were going to open your own store today, why did you come to work late?~) She asked with a dark shadow on her face. Oakley gulped "Kuo, I-" "それを保存!幸運なことに、マーカスは早く来て、店を開くことができました。しかし、それは私があなたに罰を与えることを止めることはありません."(Save it! Luckily Marcus came early and was able to open the shop. But that won't stop me from punishing you.)
Oakley let out a small sigh of relief, silently thanking Markus but then realized that she was still receiving a consequence and nervously waited for Kuo to speak. "You..." Kuo started dramatically, "have to take me out to the japanese nigiri all you can eat shop that opened in the mall nearby" she smirks at Oakley's relieved yet still tensed face. "Are you trying to get me to eat more?" Oakley asked with a bored expression. "Maybe~" Kuo responded innocently with big wide eyes before suddenly looking around her area in confusion again and returning her attention to the taller girl. Oakley looked at her confused and concerned, "Is...everything alright?" "Huh, oh yeah, Suzi just thought that she heard something." Kuo replied.
Oakley sighed, she knew that Kuo had a bit of DID and called her other personality Suzi and that Suzi seemed to have a couple screws loose from time to time. "HEY!" Kuo suddenly yelled, both girls jumped at her sudden outburst, surprised. "Sorry, that was Suzi," Kuo mumbled. "It's alright, also fine I'll go take you out to lunch afterwards at that all you can eat place" Oakley responded. Kuo brightened at this, "Well then let's go greet the others before the customers start flooding in." She said as she dragged Oakley towards the shop.
As they entered the shop, they were greeted with a unusual but pleasant scent of honey and coffee and walk towards the counter where a person is seen making coffee for a customer while mumbling in french which Oakley manage to catch a couple "Rester calme"(keep calm) and "Vous ne gâcherez pas" (You won't mess up). She was slightly confused at this until she saw the person trying to make a complicated bee design. She sighed, turned to give the customer who ordered the drink a sharp glare and slowly took the cup and cream from the worker who looked up slightly surprised and gave Oakley a thankful look. "Gracias, Oakley"(Thanks, Oakley) He said, Oakley smiled a bit not even looking up from the work responding, "No hay problema, Marcos. ¿Puedes traerme café molido?"(No problem, Markus. Can you get some coffee grounds for me?) She asked with a slightly malicious smile on her face. Hesitantly, Markus nodded while Kuo was just watching the interaction and looking around still confused as she grabbed a tablespoon of coffee grounds and handed it to Markus and he passed it back to Oakley.
Oakley had finished the drink and walked over to the customer who was a middle aged man with a grumpy look. His glare became more soft and began grumbling "Finally, someone who is actually capable. That boy should learn from your example.-" He ranted as Oakley just smiled, placed the drink and dumped the grounds on top of the drink. The man still rambling took the drink and downed it immediately spewing the drink out had he had taken a mouthful of the grounds and cursing profanities. Oakley just giggled as she walked back to Markus and Kuo who was chatting with another person as Markus took the order of another customer.
Kuo and the guy she was talking to turned towards Oakley, "Hello Toby, good day for dealing with Karen and Kevin's right?" She asked the guy now known as Toby. "That's nice, but Oakley. You should've let me take revenge; he did insult Markus after all." Toby complained with a soft voice and a pout and a bumblebee nestled on his shoulder. "We both know that you would give him diabetes if you tried to take revenge due to how much honey you'll put in it." Kuo sighed "Also, Oakley please go get into your uniform." Oakley smiled sheepishly and ran into the back and soon returned with a green apron similar to the other worker's aprons but with a little more flower embroidery.
By then Markus finished writing down the order and also walked back to the group muttering the order to himself "... whipped cream and honey crystal chunks. Alright better get to work, glad this customer didn't yell at me." Suddenly, Toby took the order form the taller man's hand making Markus jump a bit and grinned at him. "Don't worry Amour, I'll take this one." He said winking and leaving a flustered Markus with the two women as Oakley teased him and Kuo seemingly spacing out, most likely due to Suzi.
Suddenly, the earth shook a bit and all four workers looked at each other then at the entrance with nervous looks. "Oh dear" Kuo mumbled, "Here come the zombies." Oakley said as she braced herself when the door swung open.
