Oakley's Pov

I inwardly sighed knowing that I can't just hang up on her as that would be plain annoying. That lady is just so stubborn and would just hound me through the internet unless I cancel my phone. I sucked in a deep breath of mild annoyance{and fear} then went into my bathroom in hopes that her ranting wouldn't wake Matt. Then I answered the phone.
I made the mistake of putting the phone to my ear and had to quickly retract it as her loud, banshee voice rang in my ears.
"Where are you? You're late to our meeting. What f*cking great sh*t are you doing that is more important than your so-called 'mental health,' b*tch." I think I'm going to be temporarily deaf in my left ear. Wait, did she just ask why I'm late to her meeting? "Um, Alex, I'm in Germany." I said, "What! Why? What could possibly be so f*cking important that you flew to another country for it? Oh, are you there so that you don't have to deal with me?!" She screamed, I was perplexed because I know that I sent her an email about this. "Ok, first of all, I thought that I sent you an email about this?" I started, she interrupted me. " Hah! Are you that dumb? I f*cking told you that I don't check my emails on Monday, a**hole!" "Right..." When did she tell me that?
"Secondly, I'm here for family matters." As soon as I said that I heard her sputtering like she choked on a drink or something. "Wait- you act-ually have a family? I thought you were just an orphan freak." I winced at that comment and prayed that Kuo wouldn't find out about it. "What family matter is so important that you had to travel across the ocean to get there?" She then asked, I hesitated to answer her because I didn't want to tell her about my family. But I decided to, I don't know why, maybe a part of me hoped that she'd stop bullying me if I told her. "...It's the anniversary of my mother's death." There was silence for a little bit before Alex started laughing, "Seriously?! I thought that it would be more serious like you're being abused or your parents don't care about you. Geez, you are overreacting over one f*cking death that happened, what? 5 years ago?" "20-" I started, then she interrupted again. "20?! You really are just a little b*tch who can't move on from one tragedy, hah you're just a wh**e aren't ya."
I stopped trying to argue with her from then and just tuned her out as she probably wouldn't listen to me anyways. But I do wonder if maybe she was right. Mom's death did happen a long time ago and I guess I didn't have to travel all the way here to 'celebrate' her death...

3rd pov

Eventually, Alex got bored and hung up. However, Oakley continued to ponder her interaction with Alex on the phone and kept thinking about some pretty self-deprecating stuff and unknowingly scratched at her arm till it was red and irritated. A couple tears slipped from her eyes as she cried silently. But luckily, she remembered that she was leaving tomorrow and snapped out of her trance and slowly finished prepping and went to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
