Author's POV
"Sweetpea, did you get your box of books?" Mrs. Jeon asked as Jungkook flitted around his old bedroom, making sure he had everything cleaned and packed.
"Yes, the movers got that last week since it was so heavy. I just need to grab my last small necessities." Jungkook claimed, grabbing a box into his hands.
Mrs. Jeon sniffed delicately, causing her son to turn around and see a single tear running down her face.
"What's wrong, mom?" Jungkook wondered softly, putting the box down to pat his mother's shoulder.
"I'm just so happy for you, sweetpea...everything has gone well for you, I told you all the hardships would be worth it."
"And I'm grateful I had you to tell me that, mom. I'm the happiest I've ever been." Jungkook beamed.
"I can tell, sweetpea, especially at your wedding." Mrs. Jeon remembered with a chuckle.
"I was..." Jungkook murmured, trying not to blush at the reminder of that spectacular day.
"Taehyung really treats you well, dear." Mrs. Jeon noted, nodding in approval. "He's not the same boy I remember 8 years ago,"
"I know, he's changed a lot, but for the better. He really does treat me well." Jungkook remarked, smiling blissfully, Taehyung's been the one to lift him up when things get hard, to remind him of their life's blessings, even though it was tough, they braved life together now, hand in hand.
"He's going to be a great father." Mrs. Jeon said gently.
"He most definitely will." Jungkook agreed gleefully, though children is something they hadn't really discussed yet, it was something the younger wished for in the future.
"I know your father would have been so proud of you, he loved you so much." Mrs. Jeon stated warmly, holding back her wistful tears.
Jungkook's heart bloomed at her words. "I love him too...I'm proud to carry on his name and legacy."
"And you will, sweetpea." Mrs. Jeon said proudly, kissing his forehead before she gave him back his box.
"So, you and Taehyung's new house is just past the park creek?"
"Yes, mom. It's not far from here so you are welcomed to come over anytime." The younger added.
"Well, I wouldn't want to interrupt anything~" Mrs. Jeon said teasingly, earning hot red cheeks from her son.
"Y-You wouldn't be interrupting anything!" Jungkook stuttered, his heart thumping rapidly.
Mrs. Jeon only chuckled. "I'm just teasing you, sweetpea." She patted his cheek as her phone rang.
"Ah, I forgot I was picking up Choo from a friend's house. Visit often, okay, sweetpea?" Mrs. Jeon said while Jungkook and her walked towards the front door of her home.
"I will, thanks, mom." Jungkook smiled.
"No, thank you, sweetpea. I'm so proud of you, I love you so much." Mrs. Jeon spoke passionately, her heart was full and content.
