Recap:

"Are you new?" The stranger asked as she studied him. He was a tall, muscular boy with perfectly mussed blond hair. He had a smirk plastered on his face, which made Sophie's heart go into humming-bird mode.

"A-a yeah," she managed to answer, too stunned to say anything else.

Since when did cute boys talk to HER!?

Ok, now back to the story!

Sophie's POV

For a moment the boy's smirk faltered and he stared at her with this emotion... was that a hint of awe??

huh, yeah good one Sophie, she thought.

Sophie blew out a breath as she built up the confidence to ask the boy,

"umm... are you ok?" His face flickered again until his smirk returned.

"uh, yeah," He mumble. "Umm, wher-uh-where are you from?"

"San Diego."

"Huh." None of them seemed to know what to do after that...

"uh, I'm gonna go..." Sophie said as she put her book in her bag and stumble to her feet. But, ofcorse, she slipped.

She closed her eyes as she braced for impact...

But was caught by strong arms.

Sophie willed her eyes to open and found the boy smiling back at her. She froze. She was lost for words...

So, she did what any normal person would do....

Sophie slowly got up, picked up her bag, and...

bolted for the door.

Keefe's POV

"uh, I'm gonna go..." The beautiful, mysterious girl said as she put her book in her bag. He really didn't want her to though. He was about to say something when she fell. He lunged and caught her just in the nick of time.

She looked up and him, a stunned expression plastered to her face. He couldn't help the relieved smile that etched across his lips.

He could of stayed there forever, everything felt so right as he held her gently in his arms. Nothing mattered in that moment. He didn't care about everyone in the corridor starring at them or the fact that he didn't even know her name yet. He just stared at her. Memorising every inch of her face.

The way her brown eyes glinted with flecks of gold in the sunlight that shone through the glass walls of the corridor.

The way her hair flowed down like golden waterfalls.

The way her nose was scrunched slightly.

The way her eyebrows had a slight pucker as she processed the fall.

The way her lips seemed to be drawing him in like magnets...

The girl blinked.

She stumbled up, lifting her her bag with her. The warmth from her on his arms faded, leaving him feeling cold and empty. So much so, that he wanted to pull her back in, but he resisted the urge.

Not that that mattered, because she suddenly ran down and around the corner.

Keefe was frozen as he gazed at where she'd just been.

Remembering that moment when nothing else mattered.

When everything had felt just right.

When everything had felt perfect.

That girl...

Was perfect.
