After dinner, Park Ha Na walked Ji Chang Wook to his guest room. As they walked, they continued to chat about various topics, their conversation flowing smoothly.
When they arrived at the guest room, Chang Wook turned to face Ha Na. "Thank you for a lovely evening, Ha Na. Your family is wonderful, and it was an honor to meet them."
Ha Na smiled. "I'm glad you enjoyed it. And thank you again for being here with me, Chang Wook. I feel much safer with you around."
Chang Wook nodded. "It's my pleasure to protect you and your family. That's what I'm here for."
Ha Na hesitated for a moment before speaking again. "Chang Wook, can I ask you something?"
"Of course," he replied.
"Are you happy with your job?" Ha Na asked, genuinely curious.
Chang Wook paused for a moment before answering. "I'm happy with what I do. Protecting people is a noble cause, and I feel fulfilled doing it. But sometimes, I wonder if there's more to life than just my job."
Ha Na nodded, understanding. "I feel the same way sometimes. Being a successful lawyer and CEO is great, but I also want to find a balance in my personal life. I want to have time for my family and friends, and maybe even find someone special."
Chang Wook's eyes met hers, and for a moment, they both felt something stirring between them. But they quickly pushed it aside, both silently agreeing to keep their relationship strictly professional.
"Well, I should get going," Chang Wook said, breaking the moment. "I have to check on security before I turn in for the night."
Ha Na nodded. "Of course. Sleep well, Chang Wook."
"You too, Ha Na," he replied before turning to enter his room.
As he closed the door, Ha Na leaned against the wall, taking a deep breath. She couldn't deny the attraction she felt towards Chang Wook, but she knew it wasn't the right time or place to pursue anything.
Later that night, they continued their conversation on the phone, discussing their goals and dreams. Ha Na was impressed by Chang Wook's dedication to protecting others, and Chang Wook admired Ha Na's passion for fighting for women's and children's rights.
As they talked, Ha Na found herself blushing at some of the things Chang Wook said, and she could sense a similar reaction from him. But they both maintained their composure and kept the conversation professional.
The next morning, they met up for breakfast with Ha Na's family, and Ha Na's mother couldn't help but notice the chemistry between them.
"Chang Wook, dear, have you ever considered settling down?" Ha Na's mother asked, eyeing him carefully.
Chang Wook looked surprised by the question but kept his composure. "I haven't really thought about it, Mrs. Park. My job keeps me busy."
"Well, you should consider it," Ha Na's mother continued. "You're such a handsome and successful young man. I'm sure you could make some woman very happy."
Ha Na could feel her face turning red, and Chang Wook seemed a little uncomfortable with the line of questioning. But he remained polite and respectful, thanking Ha Na's mother for her kind words.
Days passed, and Ha Na received a call from a client she had worked with before. The client, a prominent socialite, was in a legal battle with her ex-husband over custody of their child. It was a high-profile case that could make or break Ha Na's career as a lawyer.
Ha Na was excited about the opportunity, but at the same time, she knew the weight of the case. It was a complicated matter, with allegations of abuse and infidelity on both sides. She would need to prepare thoroughly and work hard to come out victorious.
As she sat in her office, lost in thought, Chang Wook walked in, bringing her back to reality. "Hey, Ha Na. What's on your mind?"
Ha Na looked up and smiled. "Hey, Chang Wook. I just received a call from a client about a case. It's a big one, and I'm not sure if I'm ready for it."
Chang Wook sat down next to her. "You're one of the best lawyers in the city, Ha Na. You can handle anything that comes your way."
Ha Na sighed. "I might have to work long hours and even travel. I don't want you to feel like I'm neglecting or putting our safety at risk."
Chang Wook replies with respect "Ha Na, you don't have to worry about me. I'm here to support you. And as for our safety, I'll make sure everything is taken care of. You know I'm good at what I do."
Ha Na smiled, feeling a weight lifted off her shoulders. "Thank you, Chang Wook."
They both fell into a comfortable silence, enjoying each other's company. But as they talked, they both couldn't shake off the feeling that something ominous was brewing. They could sense that the human trafficking syndicate, the main antagonist in their lives, was up to something.
Chang Wook got up from his seat. "I better get back to work. Let me know if you need anything."
Ha Na nodded. "Thanks, Chang Wook. I appreciate it."
As Chang Wook left her office, Ha Na couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding. She knew that her career and her relationship with Chang Wook were about to be put to the test. She had no idea what the future held, but she knew that with Chang Wook by her side, she could face anything.
As the night wears on, Ha Na remains in her office, working tirelessly on her latest case. She has stacks of documents spread out before her, her computer screen displaying various articles and legal precedents that she's reviewing. Chang Wook has been keeping a watchful eye on her, making sure she's safe from any potential threats. He sits quietly in the corner of the room, going over his own notes on the case.
As they both pour over the evidence, Chang Wook notices a small spider crawling up the wall behind Ha Na's desk. Without thinking, he reaches out and brushes it away, trying to save her from any distractions. Ha Na looks up from her work, surprised by his sudden action.
"Thanks," she says, grateful for his help. Their faces are mere inches apart, and she can feel her heart fluttering in her chest. Chang Wook notices the effect he's having on her and feels his own heart quicken in response.
For a brief moment, they both stay there, silently enjoying the closeness. But then they quickly break eye contact and return to their work, trying to push aside the growing feelings they have for each other. As they continue to work side-by-side, they both know that there's something special between them, even if they're not ready to put a name to it just yet.
