A bonus chapter that takes place at an unspecified time in the future of Life's story.

Dream's arms wrap around Life's waist as she stares out at the lake in the middle of a small forest in The Dreaming. She smiles when he presses soft kisses against her neck, "You have a beautiful realm."
He smiles into her neck, "So you've said... many a time."
Life chuckles, turning her head to face him as his chin rests on her shoulder, "What's made you so affectionate?"
Dream shrugs and kisses her temple, a glimmer of annoyance in his string. "My sibling wishes to meet you."
"And that makes you clingy?" She teases, turning in his arms to face him, unaware of the gold eyes watching them as she basks in her lover's presence.
"So you're Dream's new lover." A seductive voice calls out, making Dream tense, "Quite the beauty. I see why my brother is infatuated."
Life looks at the newcomer, her expression like stone, sensing the animosity between the sibling. "Desire, I presume?"
Desire grins at Life, their eyes gleaming as they roam Life's figure. "Hello, darling."
"Desire." Dream warns, his arms tightening around her waist.
Desire's grin turns wicked, "Now, brother,"
Life tilts her head as she feels something strange trying to wash over her.
"I only wish to become acquainted with your new lover." Desire stares into Life's eyes, "What's your name, dear?"
"Life." She answers, narrowing her eyes at the troublesome Endless, the hairs on the back of her neck prickling as the feeling intensifies.
"Life herself." Desire breaths out and turns their gaze to Dream, "How taboo of you, brother."
Life rolls her eyes, "I'm getting sick of that."
"Is it not taboo? Did I miss a change of rules?" Desire drawls, going back to staring intensely at Life, making Dream clench his jaw.
"You did not miss anything."
Desire smirks, "I thought not."
The strange feeling intensifies, making Life shiver- and Desire's eyes blaze. Life clenches her jaw, gently removing Dream's arms from her waist, making the Dream Lord nervous, "I suggest you stop, Desire."
Desire puts their hands up in surrender, "I only tease."
"That's not what I mean, and you know it."
Desire chuckles, their manicured hand resting under their chin, "Well, aren't you a fascinating one."
Life feels them try to intensify whatever they're doing. So her hand flies out to physically grab their string. It pulses with fear as Desire chokes on their breath.
"Life," Dream says in warning, unnerved by the emotionless look on her face.
Life ignores him, her hand clenching tighter around the red string, making Desire drop to the floor, their hands clawing at their chest and throat.
"Life!" Dream says again, stepping closer to her.
She ignores him again, watching Desire as their skin turns grey, gasping desperately for breath, their life force flickering as she keeps the pressure on the string.
Panic flares in Dream's chest as he watches his sibling wither, "LIFE! STOP!"
Thunder rumbles across The Dreaming in response, Life rolling her eyes as she lets go of Desire's string, unseen by Dream. The Endless immediately stumbles away, their skin returning to normal as they disappear.
Life turns to face Dream, his eyes glowing silver with fury. She sighs, "Desire was in no danger."
"It didn't look that way to me." Dream snaps.
"No, I suppose it didn't." Life sighs and steps closer to Dream, her hands reaching to cup his cheeks, "I would never truly harm one of your siblings. I was merely showing Desire why it's a bad idea to use their powers on me."
Dream searches her face, weary, but sees nothing but the truth in her eyes. He relaxes, nuzzling his face into her palms, "You have a bad habit of making enemies."
Life pecks his lips, smiling when his hands grip her waist, "To say enemies would imply they can hurt me. We both know that's not possible."
"Perhaps. Which is why your enemies would hurt me instead." He says teasingly, but with truth in his voice.
"They would not survive long enough for the thought of touching you to develop."
Dream shivers at the serious tone of her voice, believing her, and feeling strangely exhilarated, realising she would essentially kill someone to protect him.
He kisses her passionately, his kiss all-consuming as he pulls her flush against him.
Life moans at his hunger for her, his need. Like nothing she had ever experienced before, even in their previous entanglement where they gave into their desires- so sweetly, so lovingly. Perfect for her first time. "Dream."
"My love." He sighs contently, reining himself in, fearing pushing too far in the selfish pursuit of gratification of his desires.
"I didn't tell you to stop." She whispers, making Dream groan and transport them into his chambers.
Life pushes him to sit on the bed, climbing on his lap the moment he reaches for her, his fingers digging into her thighs as she reconnects their lips. She threads her fingers through his hair, lightly tugging at the roots. He groans in response, disconnecting from her to kiss the skin of her neck, making Life adjust herself to give him better access.
Dream pulls back, gaining enough control to look at the ethereal being he desperately wants, "Are you sure?"
"Yes." Life breaths.
"I will not be gentle."
Life grins at him, "I don't want you to be." She's barely finished the sentence before he's man-handling her onto the bed, his head buried between her now naked thighs. Life moaning at the sensation and enjoying the beginning of what would turn into a very long night.
