It was the second week of summer classes. An announcement was posted regarding a Rodeo Event in Cheyenne Frontier Days in Cheyenne, Wyoming scheduled on Saturday. Interested to watch said Rodeo Show should contact Pilar ( student assistant). Hannah was interested to watch the Rodeo Show.
Igor greeted Hannah "good morning." Hannah informed Igor of the announcement. Immediately, Igor said to Hannah "definitely, I could not watch it. I have to call home and get in touch with my younger brother who plans to study in Louisiana next year." Hannah just smiled back at him and inquired from other classmates. Yulia from Japan and Angye from Dominican Republic said "yes" to Hannah.
The whole week went on smoothly... class discussions and quizzes were given on Friday.
Hannah was excited to see the Rodeo show in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Together with Yulia and Angye, they enjoyed the bus ride though the countryside scenery is a bit boring...wheat fields left and right of the road. They left Boulder, Colorado at 9 am and arrived at Cheyenne, Wyoming half past 10 am. The Rodeo Show was starting when they arrived at the Stadium with the parade of the bulls (toro) and vaqueros (matador). Then bulls were put back in their stampede and were individually released to have a fight with the vaqueros. The Rodeo show took about five hours to complete.
After the Rodeo Show, there were Indian villages located just outside the Stadium and were open for public view. Hannah, with her friends, roamed around these Indian villages and each tippee was selling souvenirs like necklace, bracelets, cowboy hats and neckerchiefs, among others. Hannah bought some souvenirs for families and friends in the Philippines. They proceeded to their assigned bus which left Cheyenne at 4 pm. Feeling exhausted, they slept in the bus.
