* cw: mentions of demons and murder *

Seokjin stood at the back of an ambulance with one of the many scientists he had saved along with his hero partner, Hyosang. There was an explosion at the science center they worked in and luckily, Seokjin and Hyosang were in the area during their patrol. They managed to get everyone out in time before the building fully collapsed on itself. As Seokjin talked with the paramedics, he was approached by the police chief who had just arrived on the scene.
“Hey, Jin. Nice work,” he said as he gave Seokjin a firm pat on the back.
“Thank you, mister Min. I’m just glad Hyosang and I could get everyone out in time.” Seokjin’s eyes wandered to the pile of rubble being sprayed by the firefighters to snuff out the remaining fire. It felt a bit strange to him that the five-story high science building wasn’t there anymore. He passed it every other day on his patrols. “Any word on how it might have happened?”
“Please, drop the formalities, Jin. I told you to call me Joonyoung.” The police chief grinned. “We’ll still need to do some investigating into what happened. We do have someone who could be a suspect. Male, twenty-seven years old. I’ll let you know when we find out more. So, anyway, how’s your investigation going?”
Seokjin smiled, bowing his head to the paramedic closing the back of the ambulance. As the ambulance left and Seokjin was sure no one was listening, he responded: “It’s, um, going. It’s hard to get information out of them. They don’t plan anything around me and never ask for my help. I don’t think they trust me yet.”
“Ah, that’s alright. Investigations like this take time. We anticipated this when we planned it together.” Joonyoung stroked his chin in thought. “Nothing you can recall overhearing them discussing?”
Seokjin paused to try to recall anything and shook his head. “No, I don’t think so. But I kind of recall hearing something about the jail once. It could have been about the breakout of Taehyung though.”
“Regardless, it’s something. I’ll have to get in talks with the warden then. It’s possible they might have some type of plan to do with the jail. Better safe than sorry with them right?” Joonyoung rubbed the back of his neck. “Nothing new either from my son about my wife, then?”
Seokjin remembered several times when he heard Yoongi talking about his mom, but it was always too vague or just a quick mention of her. “Sorry, no. Out of all the League members, he’s the most distrusting of me. We rarely talk. The last long conversation I had with him was when he trashed the apartment I used to live in. I’m sure you remember me telling you about that situation, right?”
Previously, Seokjin lived alone in an apartment complex nearby to Hyosang’s agency. Every day since that day breaking Taehyung out, Yoongi stalked him to his apartment and caused him trouble. It started with a random fire here and there making the building evacuate almost every night and then escalated to fighting directly with Seokjin. The last straw was when he broke into Seokjin’s apartment late at night and trashed his entire apartment during their fight. He nearly set the whole building on fire. It forced the hero to move out so as to not cause trouble for everyone else living there anymore. Joonyoung was the only person he had told about this, not even Hyosang knew the reason he moved out.
Joonyoung nodded disappointedly. Seokjin noticed a hint of anger in his eyes. “No, it’s alright. I feared that was the case. Just let me know if you hear anything.”
“Will do, sir. I mean, Joonyoung.”
The chief laughed. “It’ll take some getting used to, huh?”
