Kihyun stretched his arms above his head and let out a yawn as he headed to the cafe's front door. He reached into the pocket of the apron wrapped around his waist to pull out the keys. He fumbled with the keys and he let out another yawn, locking the door tightly. His new employees wouldn’t be starting work for another couple of days and he was ready to unload some of his work on them. Running a cafe with only one other person, that person being his partner Changkyun, was exhausting. Who knew villains and vigilantes loved coffee so much?
“Can’t it be the weekend already?” he grumbled under his breath. Kihyun shook the door to ensure it was locked and glanced at his reflection. A faint blue glowing mark began to form on his neck. He brought his hand up to rub it and grumbled under his breath. “How annoying.”
“What? Can’t wait to unload your work on Niki and his friends?” Changkyun teased. He washed his hands after cleaning the espresso machine and peered over at his partner across the cafe with a knowing smile.
Kihyun rolled his eyes and snatched the rag from one of the tables next to him to finish wiping them down. “Careful. You’re already on thin ice.”
Changkyun wiped his hands on his apron and headed over to Kihyun. “Says the one who’s almost ready to burst. Are you sure you want to hold it in any longer? You know what will happen if you do.” He brushed his fingers over the mark on Kihyun’s neck and snickered softly when the other swatted his hand away.
“You know, if you behaved, I wouldn’t have to withhold it from you.”
“But what’s the fun in that? It’s fun seeing you angry. It really gets me going.”Kihyun scoffed. “Demon men are no exception to the fact that all men are gross, huh?” He threw the rag he had in his hands at Changkyun’s face and headed for the counter as he removed his apron.
Changkyun let out a laugh. “No. Demon men are worse, unfortunately for you.”
“No kidding,” they heard a voice from the kitchen. Out came Yoongi with a bottle of soju in hand. “Sorry, I’m here so late. Again. Anyone gonna drink this?”
“Yoongi!” Kihyun grinned, his face lighting up. “What are you doing here?”
“I don’t even think you need to ask. Jimin and Hoseok were at it all day and after a brief intermission for dinner and a conversation, they went at it again.”
“For a demon who makes fun of how active Asmodeus is as the prince of Lust, Hoseok’s sure is the exact same way.” Changkyun snickered. He headed behind the counter to grab cups while Kihyun set down two chairs for himself and Yoongi. “Love, are you going to have soju with him too?”
“Ugh, don’t call me that,” Kihyun grumbled. “But yes, I am.”
Changkyun smiled at Kihyun’s annoyance and grabbed two shot glasses. “Are you spending the night too, Yoongi hyung?”
“Probably. They can go all night if they want.”
“Great! You can have Changkyun’s bed,” said Kihyun.
“What? Why?”
“You really want our guest on the couch?” A sly smile formed on Kihyun’s face. “Or would you rather he share a bed with me?”
Changkyun clicked his tongue in annoyance. “Heol… This is what I get for being annoying to you, huh?”
“That’s right.”
